I wasn't promoting Walmart over one's local dealer, merely pointing out that the Op's question about on line/mail ordering oil isn't practical given its weight. Merely also pointing out that many, many people do have oil brand/type preferences beyond the dealer's showroom and how easy good oil, at good prices, is to be found. The Po's question just seemed odd to me, that's all.
GEEEEESSSEE....Just doing a little online price checking thats all. and yes my dealer is out of state. I fully plan on buying local. Just not at my closest dealer. Mainly because they wanted $4100.00 more for my B2920 :confused2: than I was able to get it else where. and yes I did pay out of state usage tax. Plus Its much easier to set here after work and order parts than making a trip to a dealer.

So, I will be ordering my parts online now. Unfortunately, it probably will not be Messicks because I would be paying shipping plus sales tax here in PA.

I don't know where Strongstown is, but we drop parts off at your door in most of SE PA. Its a $10 charge. Way cheaper than UPS if its heavy stuff (ie.. 5gal pail of fluid)

Thanks for clarifying. Sounds like there is more than a little tension between you and that closet dealer. I can understand that. The title of the thread was oil and filters. Simple stuff that didn't make much sense to pay shipping on. Hey, it's all good.

Look, I know one of those dealers down there and know this, he was a real jerk when I too was shopping. Sympathies. That said, maybe I'd try the parts counter guys at the other two locals and see if the air is any purer. We only need to visit the parts counter once or twice a year, hopefully. Best regards,

Naw...not me. We'll (USA) just run the oil company into near bankruptcy and then the English government will have to bail them out as "too big to fail". :D:D See how easy this stuff is? Paper currency. Gotta love it.

WalMart generally sells Warren Blended oils and fluids as SuperTech. Warren is a solid, reputable company. Warren blends for a host of house names as well. TSC for one, uses Warren, as do many of the name brand Auto Parts stores for their house brand.

Thanks for that, good info. The actual source of an oil brand is kind of a slippery issue. Knowing this kind of thing helps one buy with a bit more confidence when needed.

Would I use Warren hydro fluid over sudt? Nope. I own a whining BX!!!:laughing: Here's to wishing I could try Chevron/Texaxo synthetic. Simply not available here.

Yeah, when it comes to betting in the warranty game, sticking with the builders products never hurts.

I do like to support, kind of, my local Kubota guy, but these local guys are not created equal. I choose to support, somewhat, one of them, but not all of them, honestly. Their attitudes are not equal, if you know what I mean. Frankly? It's more about my convenience.

Gosh, I only need to "visit" them once a year. Only own 1 Kubota and the service intervals are getting farther and farther apart in scheduling. Sometime over a year, I drive past a Kubota store and grab what I might need over the coming months.

Oil. That is quite different from say a HST filter, which cannot, cannot be matched elsewhere, imo. It is a truly unique oem part, to my mind and would not begin to use anything else. But oil? Geeesh! Kubota engine oil is fine, I'm sure, but they don't own a well, in the Gulf that leaks or otherwise, and don't own a refinery, and don't even sell synthetic, afaik.

I've used Coleman Equipment for an exhaust pipe and one other order that the dealer said would take a while and generally I felt didn't want to help since it was a small part. Haven't purchased oil or filters from them but their site has all the prices plus the parts of most Kubotas.

Coleman Equipment - Case, Kubota, Stihl - Sales, Rental, Parts & Service

Thanks for the information. That is probably who I will go with on some of the stuff. It just depends on what I am getting. I have used Messicks in the past and they are indeed great. That was back when kubota would drop ship parts for like $5 or some really low shipping cost.

Yeah, I know you guys are great. I have ordered from you in the past when kubota would drop ship the stuff cheap. I am on the other side of PA, north east of Pittsburgh.
