1- front mount snow blower.
2- Back hoe.
3- rough cut mower.
4- front blade.
5- a plow. I wish they made roll over plows for compacts. Another idea to build one. :)

Why assume we have the FEL? That's my highest priority attachment... Ok, here's my others for me JD 2210:

1. some kind of leaf vacuum/rake, etc. to get these millions of leaves up!
2. Pat's Easy Change! I got the Harbor Freight one, but it only works on me rear finishing mower - basically useless because by rear blade, etc., width is different.:(
3. 48" tiller - I think that is the right size for the 2210.
4. back hoe
5. box blade

Nothing a few $$$$s wouldn't solve:D

Seems to me that '5' makes this a pretty predictable thread. Not to much thought has to go into it really. I only have 5 as it is (including the FEL). I'd like to ad a spreader, or maybe a two row planter but I get by with what I have.

Let's make it interesting. More like one of those desert island questions. Lets make drop it down to two so that people really have to think a bit. And that does NOT include FEL.

So, for my needs, it would be 1) FEL and 2) Rotary cutter. It would be very painful to do without the BB which I think is the most versatile and generally useful attachment there is, but I got the tractor for mowing and the mowing never ends so if its just two, its the mower and the FEL.

The Easy Change doesn't count. So you can add another one. Besides, if all you had was it and a front mount snow blower....then you wouldn't need the Easy Change!

Also, I don't mean to hijack. Listing 5 is fine and interesting to see what people choose and use....but listing two is tough and interesting to see what people can't live without.

I'd be very very unhappy without my BB.

id like to say that my choices would change depending on how big (or small) my CUT was.

If i had a MMM or if i had a big class 3 id likely not pick a RFM as an option, but if you had a smaller class 1 or SCUT then id defintly include a RFM if it didnt have a MMM

obviously your not going to choose a disc/harrow as a must have if your tooling around on your riding lawnmower er SCUT. Same goes for a bail spear/bail forks.

Owning a stable, my needs are a little different. In addition to the FEL, here's what I've already got:

1) Red Master Harrow arena drag (2, actually, 6' and 8')
2) Chain harrow arena drag (pretty good, but not ideal, for "sealing" the arena before a rain)
3) Pallet forks
4) Fast Track Harrow that we bought because the previous owner of the facility had one. This should never be used on any arena that has a hard base with footing on top, IMHO. We only use it to break up our turnout paddocks.

Additional things I'd like to have:
1) Rotary mower or flail mower, but we really don't have enough brush/grass area to justify it. I've rented one once.
2) Box blade, but again we wouldn't use it that often.

Compared to most of you here, my tractors don't work at all, even though they get used every day. I'm in awe of the things some of you do with your tractors.

Unfortunately it's usually my employee who gets the seat time! I get some time on the 2N where I volunteer, though. :D And every now and again I get to drive my own tractors.

5? 10?
Who are we kidding, you never have enough attachments!
The number is only limited by your pocket book, ability to fab and how many projects you want to complete b4 you die. Just tell her 5, (for now on the inside):D

Hey,
Thanks for tabulating the results. I started this thread because I too am a newbie, and I was trying to get ideas about the most useful implements. OT, I just picked up an 8 ft Ford flex disc on ebay yesterday and I'm going to try to rebuild it. So I'm sure I'll be posting even more newbie questions regarding the disc. Thanks again for tabulating the results. Ken
