Speaking of treadmills, I've noticed on the Internet that you can buy them from $150 to $6,000 dollars; seems to be an extreme range. Are any of the cheap ones any good?

Did you say snakes? hahahaha

That's funny. I know I'm terrified of them and can tell you every place I've ever seen one on my place. The terror of those moments are burned into my brain!!!

I have two aproaches to dealing with them. First, I run away as fast as I can. This has proven to be very effective as solving the problem "and" providing me with some excelent excercise. hahahaha

Second aproach is the old standby, kill, kill, kill. I'vd found the dozer to be my favorite tool for this, but when it's not handy, but backhoe works to. Unfortunatly, most of the time I seem to have a shovel in my hands when I find option one unavailable. A good example was when I was smoothing the bottom of a trench for my water line. No where to run!!!

And of course there was the time Steph's mom ran over a copperhead six times on our driveway. I won't comment on my MIL's driving, but I did have to finish it off and clean up the mess with my trusty shovel.

Of course, we still love to hike our trails, but Steph won't go on her own. She might be more afraid of snakes than I am if that's possible. Last spring while out taking pics of some does and fawns, we had the oportunity to apply option one. She really impressed me with how fast she can run!!!!!! hahaha

I'm just suprised that Karen doesn't like snakes. I was under the impression that you two were like the Crocadile Hunter with your snake pictures. Where is she when you're out there taking pictures of them and relocating them to happier homes?

At least the weather is cooling down and the snakes will disapear for the next 4 to 5 months.

Eddie

Eddie, Karen has a few pet snakes in the pond. The problem is Karen hardly ever sees the snake till I point it out or she is within striking distance. I think it's something to do with blue eyes.? We do not relocate snakes we let them be, however the bad attitude copperheads in the yard usually meet an untimely demise.

Bird, our treadmill is basic, it is not digital, has variable speed, is electric, and elevation is manual. I would not recommend the non electric treadmill. The main concern in the basic one is that it supports your weight and the length matches your stride.

The ones with the nice wide soft surface, programs and auto elevation to match the terrain on the in dash DVD player, and heart monitor are very nice even with their 6K price tag. Next time you are in Sears check out their top of the line treadmill (the one with the mounted DVD player).

txdon,

The new door signs are great!:D ;) :D

Don

Don, I've heard of True Confessions, but your signs made me think, "True Concessions." A man only gets what he's lucky enough to get from "her" anyhow.

We're still working on a marketing plan for the connector system. In fact this post is part and parcel of that. I'm trying to get an opportunity to demonstrate the system to Mueller Buildings. So to make the viewing of a tale about a first timer becoming a big timer I'm bringing the thread to the front page.

The latest project was a stud stall. First I built a thirty six by forty eight foot stud pen with twelve foot gates at each end. Then I built a twelve by twelve portable stall that could be moved to either gate as needed. (winter time stall at north end, summer time stall at south end, we're in Texas)

We're talking with a client about building a portable cabin for some acreage. It'll be sixteen by twenty feet or so set up for finish out for weekend use. They want the portable building for tax reasons and to have the ability to move the building later as circumstances change.

I'm looking at building two eight by twenty three sided sheds in the shop. I'll haul them out to the land and then bolt them together. Once the frames are joined then I just have to put on two end sheets, the ridge cap, and screw down the wolmonized plywood floor.

I'm ten to twenty percent higher than the wood competition. But they build theirs on site because they're portable in name only. This one can have the common sheets and ridge cap removed along with the connecting bolts and it can be loaded onto a trailer and relocated. It will survive because it's all steel construction except for the interior finish out.

In one of the pictures you'll see Nod E. Dozer. He's my wife's Christmas present from a daughter's family. I'm proud to say he's showing aptitude for project pup of the year consideration.

He hangs close, but not too close when grandpa is welding or cutting steel. He's good at stealing girls hearts and distracting talk a lots. He doesn't seem to like horses much though. I think a lot of that is bigotry on his part. I can understand that. I think it has something to do with the distance between the brain and the feet. In him it's inches, with the horses, body lengths, lots of body lengths.

Hi Harvey,

I agree with Bird, the last picture is a classic!!!

I've always been a big fan of Mueller and find it very exiting that they are interested in your system. That's very cool!!!!!

Thanks for the pics and update,
Eddie
