You could tighten the top link to take that slack out but the cut isn't as good. I just set the draft height with the left arms, canted slightly forward by lowering the tail wheel so I only cut the grass once, and leave that top link connection pretty loose. It seems to cut best that way and tracks over slopes well.

Yesterday's adventure, on the highway, at 60MPH, towing the tractor, of course...

Been a rough week.

GW, that's the "standard" top link connection that BushHog (brand) has used for years. The cut height is entirely controlled by the 3 pt arm height and the tail wheel. As STx said, the swivel connection just allows the hog to follow land contours better without the top link lifting the tail wheel so frequently. Bushhog's instructions for it are to set the top link length so that the "swivel" part cants forward at about a 45deg angle when on flat, level ground. Works about the same as having a section of chain in the top link. Neither is perfect, but works pretty good.
