Shot gun with bb can be an effective deterrent , Nothing like 50+ projectiles per shot

Following that logic, dove loads should be even more effective.

Penetration matters. If I'm forced to use lethal force to defend myself, it had better be lethal. If I'm required to shoot someone until they stop attacking, flesh wounds and powder burns are not the effects I'm counting on. It I'm shooting BBs, I'm using a Red Rider carbine - even though mine does't have a thing in the stock to tell time. I keep less lethal rubber slugs on hand for brown bears in the trash cans, as I find them an effective deterrent, but if I have to shoot a two-legged predator I'd prefer not to have to do it twice.

You do want a hole big enough and a bb is a little larger than a 17cal , Im sure it would be lethal at certain ranges . from an accuracy standpoint I want a shotgun if im awoken and have to fire at something. and with a shotgun you can alternate with Stop(bb's) Im serious (00 buck) and Goodbye (slugs)

Ever found yourself thinking 的 need a firearm right now while operating a tractor?

What was your solution?

No just more to think about. Here in rural central Me I have never in 33 years seen anything that could cause me any harm.

I agree you can select your hangout area and minimize trouble.

When trouble comes you will get little warning and certainly can't call "time out" and vacate the area.

Me neither.

Best option. But I like to be prepared for the unexpected.

So do I. I usually carry a Glock 36 when on the tractor. 45acp, seven rounds, first two are CCI shotshells, which do cycle the action and are great on rattlers.
