Operating on soft wet ground?

How far from solid ground do you have to reach? How many holes? How much are you willing to spend on a hole? What about an excavator with a hydraulic auger instead of a bucket?

my thinking also, any time I have had my skidsteer on soft ground it gets stuck and sometimes good and solid, fortunately I have a excavator to get it out or it would sure tear up the ground trying to get out

An excavator or a bobcat telehandler with auger so you can stay on bank. Granted it would be rental cost. I know my luck if I tried to do that with my machine. Especially with wheels, straddle a couple logs and that's it.

Do you actually need holes? If you are looking to do something like fence posts or pilings or foundations, check into helical piling. They can be screwed into the ground and be the foundation you need. This technology has actually been around for awhile.
