I'll take the limbs, sticks and rocks...

But I don't want to get hit with snakes! LOL

Hey! Imagine how the SNAKE felt! He was the one getting thrown by the brush-hog!!!:laughing::laughing:

P.S. I gotta know: Was the snake venomous? (Possible clue: Did you hear any rattling while it sailed by?) :D

Not trying to hikack here but how many of you fellas try to chase down a snake that you stirred up, they never seem to stick their head up at the right time!

I sure hear you on the sinus issues. I ran open station tractors until a couple of years ago when my sinuses and bronchitis got too bad. I also ran cab tractors during that time too, but the open station didn't bother me to the point I couldn't use one.

You do have to watch out with a cab tractor as I have broken a few lights and such over the years. Our old Case CX80 lost all the lights and mirrors and had some holes in the roof. We had a couple of operators who didn't pay much attention to the limbs and didn't have to pay for repairs.

When i go over sapplings and thick brush. I always lean foward adn cringe. Seeing the spears sometimes thrown to the side of the tractor. Leaning foward kind of hides my head and most of my torso more behind the seat and more foward so an impactr would be harder to happen. Lucky so far i guess.

I run the rubber shield and also the dangling safety chains on the front of my SQ 172 and have never been hit by anything nor have I seen things go by me. I figure whatever the rubber shield does not catch the chains do.

I do alot of backing up because I live in hill country and that is the only way to get those steep hillsides cut.

I uncovered a small rattle snake once on my riding mower. I ran back over him 3-4 times but he kept his head down. I finally parked the mower on top of him and lowered the deck all the way down. Game over. Rattle snake milk shake.
