I never thought of using the remotes. Interesting & appealing. I setup a "kidney loop" <1mic filter on my 10 gal hydraulic system last year - it was a Frantz filter that was fed from a tapped resevoir drain plug, to a 12volt independent pump (45psi) and back to the resevoir fill. I have since taken it off with the intent of setting it up as a portable filter.
