Opinions sought on best all-around quick hitch

I love the quick hitch for my Harley rake, when I have to drop it, to pull my dump trailer, and then back to the Harley. I have been meaning to adapt my snowblower for the hitch, but haven't got around to it. Sometimes it doesn't take much and sometimes it's not worth it.

But the quick hitch make life with a 3ph bearable, especially if you get into heavier implements you can't just lift or jiggle into position.

I've owned PAT's for over 12 years. I tried a HF Quick Hitch.....and hated that SOB. I have allot of implements......and owning the PATS and a Hydraulic Top Link makes fitting any implement a piece of cake. I have no interest in any of the others....it's PAT's for me!

Having said this.....I do find the PAT's stabilizer bolts a bit annoying about twice each season. I do need to re-align my couplers.....and re-tighten the lock nuts a bit. This may take about 15 minutes to do.....and is no big deal......but it would be nice if it was a set it and forget it situation.

I have a Speeco that I got at Fleet Farm. Every implement I own has the right width for the lower hooks. My only implement that needs the Y adapter is my Spreader. Everything else just needs to adjust the upper hook up or down. I replaced the bolts with two 1/2 hitch pins that latch without needing a cotter pin. I just mark each implement with the number of the lower pin so there is no guessing. I have to get off the tractor to hook up or remove the pot on over half my implements so moving the top hook is not the end of the world. It’s still 10x easier than readjusting the sway bars.

I think I had to move some bolts around on implements upper structures to make things fit, but I didn’t have to weld anything.

I just wish someone made an upper hook that could go in the bottom spot and was tall enough to cover the entire distance if it was in the top spot.

A buddy of mine gave me a Harbor Freight quick hitch. It wouldn’t fit his tractor, or mine both cat 1. Easy fix making each side 1/8 inch or so wider. Had to orders link pins online and the QD adapters for my three implements etc.

Its not had an easy live, I’ve worked it pretty hard behind my 50 HP Mahindra. If it broke tomorrow I’d go to harbor freight and buy another just like it and modify to fit again.

It takes no time to swap from brush hog to box blade or straight blade.

The Walco QH is definitely not the best. I have mostly Land Pride and Wallenstein attachments and found the clearances were too tight to be useful. Am getting a QH15 instead.

Agreed. Since one must adjust top link or none at all in the case of PHDs I bought a Pats Cat2 QH. I am able to back up and attach m Rhino 284 in under a minute and then connect the drive shaft and top link. Can't go wrong with Pats QH IMHO.

WD, depending on how long ago you bought your HF hitch, modifying might not be necessary - their early ones WERE too narrow, newer ones are wider... Steve

I picked up a Country Pro at the local Fleet Farm and have to use the adapter instead of the hook with both my Walco blade’s.
