Optima battery question

I like so many others on this board have a leaky battery, with only 14 hours on my tractor. The funny thing is, I specifically checked the battery because I have seen so many posts about faulty batteries on this board.

The leaky battery was a - LVA13496 (MFD - Jan 05; Shipped Feb 05)

If I can find a Optima battery, would it be a D51R ?
Also, would the Optima battery mount nicely within the mounting brackets ?

I need the battery right away, as I am in the middle of a job.

im not sure about yours but i have a 790 that a full size battery like a group 24 fit with no modifications .

Like many others I kept a real close watch on my 2003 790 . never happen to me /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ....SO I THOUGH.... at only 15 hrs after a real good 50 hr clean up ....Battery taken out and inspected ...everthing looking great /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.....BAM /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifgot me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif..... Deere made it all good at no cost to me ....replaced everything ..... with new ... not repainted... even gave me another battery /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif....it's now in my mitsubishi tractor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.....my 790 has a new D51R fits nicely with no mods /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.... Take ones advice that learn the had way /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif ...get rid of that John Deere battery ...or sooner or later it will get ya /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
