Kubota is just as American made as deere.... if not more in some cases. If you look at the side of a majority of tractors there is a sticker that says "made in the USA". Well, its about as made in the US as deere is. Kubota assembles some of the equipment in Georgia. Although a majority of the product is foreign, Kubota keeps a very good large staff in the country. I am not a deere dealer, and my word is not gosphel, but from what I understand they are not even manufacturing alot of their own compact tractors, rather outsourcing to one of the many OEM's.

When is comes down to it, your not going to find any compact tractor that is american made. The market is too competitive. Fortunatly there is still a good bit of american made AG equipment.

The most important factor is finding a tractor you are comfortable with and having a good local dealer who will sell at a fair price and be able to provide quality service and implements for years to come.

Well as you have demonstrated over and over, you aren't too sharp on what you are allowed to sell, so we aren't going to put much stock in what you can't sell.

Bill,
I understand that college is not for everyone. But certainly
education after high school is for everyone. Get training in
some skilled trade. Electrician, welding, plumbing/heating refrigeration, chef school. Look into alternative farming
opportunities such as organic farming. Look into something
like a landscaping business, or tree surgeons. Be responsible for yourself. Don't just count on some job from a large corporation being there for the next 30 - 35 years.
My friend said it best, the jobs that we felt smug and secure in the 1970's, started getting shaky in the 80's were gone by the 90's. Everything changes quickly in today's business climate. The MBA's are always dreaming up ways to save a penny here and a dollar there. If that means your job, it could be gone tomorrow. Even highly skilled trades like
pharmacy, medicine and dentistry are under attack.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( GM doesn't differentiate the pricing variance between Mexican assembled vehicles and those assembled here. Basically, they aren't passing on the savings of paying 1$ per hour labor rates in Mexico. )</font> I don't think most people realize that the average worker in Mexico makes between $3.50 and $5.00 per DAY, not $1.00/hour. I live in Mexico part of the year and I still can't believe how little these hard working people make. The prices just to eat use up most of their earnings. John

badapple,

Boy I could get side tracked hear with all the talk about the auto industry and made in America /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I live and work in the Detroit area dealing with automotive companies so I know what it's all about $$$$$$.

Back to your post, I have my tractor in Mid Michigan, and it's a sand box with lot's of snow in the winter. I don't think you will have any problems with the R4's on the tractor, it's what I have and most of my neighbors, no one has ever complained. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

John, good point about the wages paid to Mexican workers. Before we bought our Yukon XL I read several posts on Edmunds.com where buyers were concerned about the quality of Mexican built GM trucks. We have had zero problems with the quality of our "across the border" SUV and I wish the GM employees in Mexico were better compensated for the excellent work they perform.

While it would be nice if GM would reduce the costs of their Mexican assembled vehicles to reflect the lower labor costs, I am sure the expense involved in shipping parts and materials to the assembly plants there offsets part of the savings.

Mike:

You & Junkman are tag teaming this poor guy. Sounds like wrestle mania on TBYN.

I have to say that the stickers on tractors and other durable goods should say "Assembled in America from various parts, some of foreign nature and some domestic".

The loader on my 5030 was made here. I believe most of Kubotas implements are made here. That's not to say that the steel in them isn't boat iron.

The company that I work for during the day, sells steel to a Kubota implement manufacturer. That steel may be domestic or imported as we get steel from domestic suppliers as well as foreign. After you un-can a coil or just put it in inventory, it looses it's place of origin and just becomes an inventory number for the most part.

No problem! I understand global economy. This guy is on the NH and Deere threads trying to make a point that we can't seem to get through our heads...

<ul type="square"> [*]John Deere is no good because they lie about being all American made
[*]Kubota is good because they are Japanese
[*]Kubota is better than John Deere because thay are American Made
[*]NH is better than Deere because they don't use Japanese engines
[*]Deere is bad because they market aggressively.
[/list]

read his posts for yourself, and try and figure out the logic...

Most of you are getting the point but I still sense some holdouts. It's a world economy..... Countries exist because of
politics, political idealogies, and rogue governments.
Everyone of of our CUT's, no matter what brand,
are made in dozens of countries around the world.
The last time I bought 3 point hitch pins, bushings, and clinch pins at Tractor Supply and Farm and Fleet, the tag said
made in India. Because of modern travel, communications
and other technologies, we are seeing a rapid equalization
of world economies. The new emerging economic superpowers are China and India. Those two countries alone
have more master's degree and doctorate degree graduates
than the rest of the world combined..

I think badapple wants to apologize. He's posted on the wromg forum.
Since he was new to the tractor market he thought he'd come to this forum. He sought the wisdom of sages such as...well..maybe me. Certainly you guys.

But aparently he's found the 'Meet the Press' forum instead.

Poor guy.
