Tractor
John Deere 4310 E Hydro
I'm trying to decide between two tractor models. One is the KUBOTA B2710 ,and the other is the J DEERE 4210 .Both would have Hyd. transmissions,Frt. loaders, and Snowblowers. In Northern Michigan our three main elements are HILLS, SAND,and SNOW. In summer i will be using the tractor for landscape duties. I have a whole lot of sand to be dug out relocated groomed ect. Plus maintenance on two driveways totalling about 700' up and down hills that wash out everytime the humidity goes up. In winter it's snowblowing and a lot of it.

Badapple,
Since you are comparing "apples to apples" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif in this case, there are 2 or 3 other things to look at. Ergonomics - how does each one feel to operate. Dealer - how well they treat you down the road is probably more important than price, and finally Price with various financing incentives rebates etc. always changing.
I own 2 greens and an orange, am blessed that the local dealers of each are great to work with, and I like all the machines. Wife only drives one of these willingly, is learning to like the second and dislikes the bigger green one /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Read a lot of stories here to gain some perspective about things to consider and best of luck to you.

The Deere has a direct injection engine that is a dream for cold weather starting.

There can be huge differances in snow blower performance, be sure to check that. (snow doesn't say long, here...)

Cabs are something to keep in mind, I think there are nice ones for both.

Deere is a little higher pto hp

Deere has a little higher hydraulics, especially the latest 4210 (recent pump upgrade)

Deere maybe heavier, no one on earth can figure out how to have a std. for comparing weights... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

AGAIN a bad dealer can make either a bad choice, a good dealer will make either a GREAT choice.

You're right Moeh1 I will drive both before I buy for shure. There seems to be things I like better about each. It seems like it's easier to change implements on the J D. THE blower seems better on the K. We've already had 13' of snow this year. and the loader seems better on the J D. One other ??? I had was tires .Green recomended R4 ,and Orange R3??? I'm thinking R# would have better contact patch???

Both dealers seem o.k. (SO FAR), both are large multilocation sites. Cold weather starting will be a big factor too. This is how I have them specd so far............... GREEN -4210 .4wd,r4 loaded tires,420 73" hd bucket ,59"two stage blower for $22,515 +tax ORANGE- b2710 4wd, r3 loaded tires, block heater,LA402 60" bucket,63" b2782 blower for $20,250 ????

I'm not that familiar with green thanks to my local dealers (were not very helpful, but you will have dealers like that in all colors) but I have heard a lot of people talk about the location of the loader joystick as to one of the major ergonomic factors. The dealer will usually make or break a color. That is the main reason I went with orange.
Good luck

Don't know Frank .I plan on driving them both within the next week or two, and that will tell me tons of course.I don't have any idea yet how good these prices are either. I'm trying to find folks with same equipment or brands that can say ,yeah thats the best feature ,or that feature really sucks, stuff like that . All the help and advice I can get. from people with experiance with these products.( pretty cool so far) JD did hint that ther was still some wiggle room in the price.

I'd buy the tires that you want. R4s are great esp. if you're going to be using them on hard surfaces like roads with gravel/rock and paved asphalt/concrete. If you don't really have muddy areas, industrials would be fine. I don't think you'd like turfs. Any way you go though, buy what you want, not what the dealer wants to sell you (noticed the difference you posted in tires). They are both excellent tractors, but I think I'd go with the one that weighs a little more because you can take better advantage of your HP with more weight. Have you compared the 3pt. lift capacities as well? That's important as well as lift caps for the loader. Best of luck however you go, I bought the other orange, Kioti and am very happy all the way round, I'm sure you will be also with any of the major brands. Why not show the Deere dealer your quote on the Kubota and ask him to meet or beat if that's the one your want? John

Ask them to make your decision even harder and make price not an object. They should be willing to at least match the price on an an apples-to-apples competitive package.
