2012 John Deere 3520 Deluxe Cab
Been back and forth on it for months and almost didnt do it this time becuase the prices went up since august but im goin down tomorrow with signed purchase order and 10 percent down. Just the deluxe cab with 72 mmm, vertical exhaust, factory radio and turf tires. I have 10 acres with only about 8 acres to mow. Didnt want r4's to ruin lawn. Cant afford loader right now. Would like to have a snow blade at least but **** they cost as much as the loader. Shouldnt be to big a deal to fab one up having hydraulics already ran. Anyone ever do this? On a budget so what kind of cylinders for lift and angle would you guys use? any ideas on a whole plow setup? could probably get a cheap *** used plow somewhere on craigslist even if its too small for the tractor. I have some more questions to:

My garage is 94" tall, will the tractor fit in there?
Any you guys own a 3000 series cab tractor and have some pics of the inside or some video?
Any other recomendations?
Im very excited about this

Congrats!

Are you ordering or is it on the lot?

I have a 3120 and has done everything I need. When you have the cash for the loader you MUST get it though. Buying a tractor without a loader is like taking a dump without toilet paper (unless you have another tractor with a loader)

Plenty of people have fabbed up some nice plows. Look on CL and local auction sites for a used plow and make the necessary modifications. Unfortunately I don't have a cab so you won't enjoy my pics.

The 3520 is an excellent tractor and I probably would have got either it or a 3320 but I got an excellent deal on a demo with full warranty and all the benefits of new so I had to take it.

Sounds good.

You may want to even want to try and locate a good deal on a small snow pusher and then when you get the loader you can fab it to work with the loader again, the same could be said about the plow as well though..

As far as your garage question goes it will be really close. Some have gotten their garage jacked up a couple inches but that's not cheap by any means, so I built a barn:D

If you are going to be doing any sort of dirt moving, as with a 3520 I would assume so, and especially without the loader, I would look for a nice box blade to scrape and move some dirt around. They are really nice and work excellent:thumbsup:

Congrats on your decision.I think both MF and Kubota both supply a power angle 60" front blade. The QA basically clips on the a plate on the front of the tractor. and the lines run off the FEL control. If you know what you are looking for you might find a good used one or get some ideas to fab something.

Google MF 2340 Front Blade for more info.

thanks for the info guys! just went down this morning to put down deposit to get the order for the machine in. he said he will email me soon as the order goes through and let me know the arrival date. I was also thinking more about the snow removal thing and saving more money and headache for now. I think a rear scraper blade should be easy enough with less headache. What do you think? Can u tell me what to look for when lookking for a cheap one. Will any 3 pt blade work? How many inches? Any recomendations where to find one cheap. I hope I dont sound to retarded with all this. On a budget with attachment until next year. Would like to play in the snow hopefully if the machine arrives in time. Im a heavy equipment operator who is surgical with a d6 cat and excavators up to 385 but as far as farm tractors go, i have zero experience with them. Im upgrading from a john deere 325 garden tractor. It would be nice if there were more subforums deidcated to different series john deeres with FAQ section. Have a great day

Once you eventually get a loader, you'll wish you had it from the git-go. Especially if you get the 4-in-1 bucket like I did. The 300X or 300CX loader permits you to drop the bucket with ease, and replace it with other tools; loader forks, snow blade, grapples, et cetera.

As far as a rear blade, I personally find them useless. But for those that must have them, measure the outside width of your rear tires. Then buy a blade that - when angled at its extreme position - is equal to or wider than your rear tires. My boxblade works just fine for snow. I can back up to the garage door, drop the box, and drag the snow away. When the box is overflowing, I need merely dump the snow, drop the box again, then bulldoze the pile in reverse. The variety of work you can get done with a boxblade - year round - is far far greater than can be done with a scraper blade.

Your garage opening is plenty tall for a 3x20 cab by the way.

I have to agree with Greg. If at all possible get the fel now. The dealer will/should give you a good discount since you are buying the tractor --- wait till later you likely will not get as good of a discount. Plus, there are lots of useful implement options with the fel --- various buckets, snow plow, grapples, pallet forks, bale spear, etc.
I never liked the rear 3ph blade for moving snow. Maybe it's just me, but the fel plow or snow blower is much more preferable. That's why I sold my rear blade after a couple of years.

Good luck with your new tractor.

I agree with greg that a box blade would be more useful in the snow then a back blade. Again, look on CL.

ok. thanks for the additional info guys. Been doing alot of searching the past 48 hours. First off, i agree with you guys about getting the loader but only one problem. the problem is that im paying 32000 dollars cash for the setup i described now with the 18 percent off having the ag discount now. so im not financing anything. I dont want anything financed. Cant afford to shell out another 3k for the front end loader and i agree, it is the best part of this machine.Hopefully next year i can get that. Once the machine itself is in my garage i will be happier than a pig in ****. So If we can make do without the loader for a year or two we will be as good as gold. From research, a box blade will cause the snow to pile up underneath the rear tires un less you push in reverse but that will cause a wall effect too. I figure with a rear scraper blade about 7 foot wide, it can be angled and get rid of that issue, plus you can reverse the blade and do same in reverse. There is a tractor supply store about 15 miles from me and according to the website they sell these 7 foot 3pt category 1 hitch blades for 350 bucks. thats not bad no? what do you guys think? I live in PA outside of philly and so far this year has been a dud for snow, however, i plowed all those wicked blizzards with a 800 pound john deere 325 tractor with 48 inch blade. Correct me if im wrong but this tractor should absolutely be a breeze with a rear scraper and on a budget. I think this tractor is supposed to weigh close to 3800 pounds with the cab and along with the turf tires, should be plenty of weight and traction to out perform my little tractor i have now
