If I start a machine from the ground, I am always half prepared for it to take off. Yes, the beer will probably loose it's life.

I repair a great number of things. Always a much harder task when such a whiz kid has attempted the repairs before you get there. I guess he doesn't own a multi-meter.

It's OK. I'm sure he will solder and heat shrink all the butchered connections.

Videos must be more important then time and work for this guy.

I'd rather pay $300 for a service call and have a un-hacked up tractor (plus I'd be making money, not videos)... Or I would've tested the switches before going all crazy with the wire cutters. These are hard enough to work on and when you buy a used tractor with spliced wires and snipped safety switches it makes it even harder to fix right.

Agree with this.

While his troubleshooting, and then repair method was different than what I would have done.....as a guy who has lived on 1950-1960's tractors, there are times I get pretty frustrated at all the safeties.

I have no issue starting my tractor from the ground. Sometimes when working on implements, or a loader, you have no need to be on the tractor. You simply need to start it to have hydraulics to reposition something.

My seat switch is zip tied down, and will probably be bypassing the clutch switch before long. As I cannot reach it to start machine from right side. And the new ones don't even have a clutch

Don't understand why Chucky is not liked, I laughed several times during the video, especially when he got into the wiring, he illustrated how I'd feel with a new 20k tractor that wont start. I think him and I would get along great.

Granted, we might not all go about tackling a problem like Chucky did here but he is funny, not fancy, I learn from him, and he does make money doing his videos with over 200,000 subscribers... not bad for a country boy.

Also keep in min that not all Mahindra's have the same fit finish and engineering. Many of their tractors are sourced from manufactures in Japan and Maybe some from Korea. Just because it wears red paint does not mean it comes from India.

Yes, of course I would not have started troubleshooting like Lance did, but I have another 40 years of troubleshooting experience too. He used the shotgun method by trying this and trying that and then still not fixing it etc. BUT he did get it running. Not the way I would have done it but it is what it is. Some of the engineering things he did not like about the tractor, I would not have liked either, but overall he seemed to like the tractor.

Anyway Lance is a good guy even if I might have done things a little more scientifically.

You can by pass safety switches, but if you are wearing work boots with large laces, one of these days you are going to snag a pedal or a lever while exiting your tractor, ending upside down on the ground.

That is true! Nice observation. It is amazing how many times when I am doing something, my line, cable, or whatever, I somehow always inadvertently hook on the only thing around causing a nuisance... but if I were trying to hook it, it wouldn't happen in many tries!

Chucke's videos have great energy and I sometimes watch them hoping some will transfer to me. Can't say I've ever heard a 8 speed forward 2 reverse called a 10 speed though.
