Is it safe to assume this stump was hardwood stump?
If you run into another stump like that you will
probably need a chain or two to secure the backhoe
to another tree.
Ok well I'm about 3 hours drive from Pugwash here and the stump was from a red pine. The scary thought I have is this. I have a BIG white pine to cut down sometime yet and it shares the same stump as a red pine about the same size as the one that this stump came from. So its gonna be a BIG hole and a few hours digging. I think the white pine alone I'm guessing has about 3 cord of wood to it lol. Sometime if I get the steel I wouldnt mind making a ripper tooth for the hoe to rip the roots of stumps so I could just flip them out of the ground.
