Nice looking photos you have there, I would caution you about rolling the bucket all the way forward and using it to anchor the back hoe as the amount of extended stroke will potentially create a bind on the pistons and damage the cylinder barrels and stuffing boxes. its better to leave the bucket flat and level on the ground when digging as it allows you to simply level the rear with the out riggers.

The bucket cylinders do not have stop tubes, and as a result all the potential binding is right at the point where the cylinder rod enters the piston and the rod will place huge stress on the stuffing box and the rod wiper will also fail and leak when the rods are slightly bent with the bucket being fully extended.

How far are you from Pugwash?

yes I am careful when I have the front bucket down and dumped like that, But had to do it as the stump was in the ground so well with the bucket full of dirt it would still lift the front of the tractor up when I dug, and then slide the tractor. With the buket that way it stayed in place better where its all sand here. by Pugwash do you you mean pugwash NS.? I know theres one in the us if I remember right

thanks I love this little backhoe. It was costly but worth every cent and its like 10 times the tractor of the john deere we had tried out.

I hope your are not seriously paying the dealer $1,000 to switch your B26 from JD to Cat control pattern AJRaptor. I am a JD pattern guy but a good friend is a Cat man and he rents my machine periodically for jobs that are too small for his full size Cat rubber tire machine. Whenever he borrows it, I switch the hoses for him.

All you have to do is remove the four bolts holding the metal cover around the controls and slide it up over the levers. The hoses underneath have colour coded tape to match them in pairs. On mine the boom pair is red and the stick pair is yellow. All you have to do is remove the hoses from their respective locations and than swap them and voila you have Cat controls on a Kubota TLB. Lower the boom straight out to the ground and you should be able to swap the controls in less than 30 minutes. I have done this at least a dozen times (and switched them back to JD when it returns) and have experienced no problems.

Enjoy your new machine - I have gotten a lot of work out of my B26.

lol that would have been good to know about $1,000 ago lol :confused2::laughing:. oh well now I wont have to pay for it again but it was no biggie anyways as it was going in to have a rear remote put on it for the snowblower and were getting soon anyways. do you have a pic of the lines with the cover off showing what lines you switch around? but yeah in one of the videos i have posted i am running it on the jd. its now on the cat i just wish the hoe would go a bit faster cause trying to get the hoe to do 4 things at once well i think the ants start diggin faster at that point in time lol its odd to me cause the kubota excavators are so dang fast its almost scary at times but this thing. wow. Its like watching paint dry when you try to swing uncurl the bucket put the stick out and lower the boom all at the same time. its really nice and smooth but really slow. but still faster then a shovle i guess lol.

No doubt .... :D

A downloadable parts manual from tractorsmart.com should show it.

Check the parts manual for restriction orfices/plates in the valves ..... the BL4690B on our B2910 had several ..... on the dipperstick and swing circuits for sure - I removed the dipperstick orifice which helped some what .... but like you say: it still ain't no mini-ex ...

hey thanks for for info on the parts manual. Now I'll know just what part or parts I may bust up lol. But it's a kubota so they shouldn't bust that easy. But where I'm use to bigger gear I get on this thing, and I'm scared I'm gonna bust it or something right off the bat.

Now if only I could find a shop manual on this setup so I can pull it apart and put it back together the right way if i need to

Yes, I was referring to Pugwash N.S. Canada.

Is it safe to assume this stump was hardwood stump?

If you run into another stump like that you will
probably need a chain or two to secure the backhoe
to another tree.
