Actually, with barn metal it is wider on one end than the other. So it will go crooked if you don't cheat it. We usually put the first sheet up and from then on we will measure where each and every sheet will go to ensure it is straight. It is not easy though.

Nice barn USNative! Thanks for the pics.

Why is barn metal wider at one end? Is there a reason, or that's just the way it is?
Dave.

i didnt know that...wish i had....i measured the roof and tryed to square it. then we went from our lines and they never lined up the truses like they shouldve. so we ended up makin it close and just goin off one to the other..

I have never seen the metal sheeting to be wider on one end. I really don't know where you heard that. We make the stuff at one of our plants that I work for and that is not the case here or any of the other metal I have worked with.

When our barn was built the tin fit very well and was squared up all the way. Our tin was fabbed right here in Montana and is very good quality.

Anyway guys, I will be posting up more pics later as we are completing the job. We are working on the interior of the barn now and we still need to attach the weather vane thing on the top.

Part 4 , Here's a few more pics of burying the water hydrant with my little JD 3038e (had to add some tractor pics) and then building the tack room, stall inner walls and then adding inner walls to the hay storage area and after that a little sunset picture of the completed outer barn from the front side. We will be adding the weather vane on to the cupola later. I will post up more later guys, Enjoy! :D
