IslandTractor, MichiganIron, good comments in your posts.

The sun came up this morning and the sky didn't fall. :D:D

Maybe it is just me then.

How is it that two of the most well liked and respected and vociferous dealers go away back to back?

Would be great if we knew why.

Just doesn't seem right.

Joel

I agree. But, sheet happens and without dismissing the event's significance reality demands that we move on.

Long live Wallace Tractor. Regardless of the color of the machines they sell.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm just not trying to make too much out of it. Over the years I have seen the same thing in other businesses. Car and boat dealers closing or changing brands. Perhaps there is something sinister to this but probably just hard business decisions that had to be made. I used to work for a security company and they changed who looked after the monitoring of custome's security systems, this had some people concerned unnecessarily. In Victoria where I used to live the Boston Pizza stopped being a franchise and became independent under a different name, it was just a business decision for the owner. So I'm not overly concerned, can something happen to Kioti, sure but not likely. :D

As a newbie here who is tractor shopping, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents.

If low sales were the reason, I'd be inclined to think the dealer I went to would have been dropped by Kioti long ago as all of their in-stock machines are all 2007-2008 with one 2009. And we're only talking six tractors total...
I don't think they're setting the world on fire by any stretch...

You can't spend more than a few minutes on this site without coming across someone who bought from Wallace. I've seen numerous car dealerships lose/drop a product line because they were pressured by a manufacturer to be exclusive and only carry said manufacurer's product line. That's what my gut feeling is here. Regardless, it's a most unfortunate turn of events.

Bottom line for me is that I will not consider a Kioti purchase until this red/white gets sorted out.

I think it's a good tractor, but at the same time I'm no longer considering buying another Fiat pick-up, oops I mean Dodge/Cummings:confused2:

Kind of funny, in 1980 we bought 10 acres and built a new house. We looked at tractors but felt we did not want to take a chance on Kubota :confused2: as it was not a real well know brand name at the time. I'm sure dealers back then had their issues as well.

this is my take on it, the home office expects dealers to restock thier lots with machines every so often and thats fine as long as they can sell them. but the home office is not in touch with the real world and things are not what they were 3 years ago, so the dealers are forced to either take on more machines on thier lots or else tell the home office to go screw themselves and stop selling thier machines. my local dealer has'nt had a problem yet, he sells mostly smaller 20 to 40 horsepower tractors. he has a dk55 he's had for 2 years, i've got a dk55 i've been trying to sell but the bigger tractors just are'nt selling. it pays not to sell just one brand, my dealer sells kioti and yanmar/cub cadet, and looking tym and others just in case kioti puts demands on his small dealership.

Maybe the red and white company will come out with a blue tractor also.

I might have to salute when I drive by and see red, white, and blue tractors parked side by side on the same lot:licking::laughing:

I was looking at a DK40SE HST. Really liked the machine and the value offered. Got qoutes from 2 different dealers, including Michigan Iron. But as I look at the dealer situation, I am going to buy a Kubota. I just don't want to spend that kind of money only to have the dealer drop out or get kicked out. Or the brand disappears entirely. This kind of dealer turnover drops the value of these machines down to that of the chinese tractors.
