Leadership was able to film this from her office this morning. The filming started after it tried to catch a goose. I may get rid of all my other pets and just keep this one I am old, and haven't had this good a look in my life.

Here in MO I’ve only seen one Bobcat. He was in the woods feeding on a rabbit.

Yup, sorry bobcat, boss got a video that is pretty impressive, as time permits I will try to get it uploaded.

We have all small house pets that malinger around outside looking at bugs when the weather is nice. I fear this will turn into a hunting expedition......... Nice looking cat though.

Nice looking bobcat. Their coloring is so variable.

We coexist pretty happily with our bobcats; we typically have two that hunt around opposites sides of the property. They seem have learned where the dog fence is, and mostly stay outside of it, although this year we did have a young one come exploring in the yard. I think it jumped downslope off a retaining wall, and then took a few minutes to explore and figure out fences before it left.

Frankly, anything that preys upon small rodents (mice, rats, ground squirrels) is very welcome here for two reasons; one it keeps the rodent damage to a dull roar, and two, it keeps down the rattlesnake population.

Thank you, and I will work on living with the darn thing. We have lake on two sides, half mile of pasture on the one side, and forest on the fourth (guess where the cat lives). None of my critters are motivated to swim/walk more than about 50 feet, so no fence. I have one cat that likes to be outside, and will actually go up to the shop and supervise me, I would hate to loose her.

I imagine we will keep a closer eye on the dog, and see if the cat shows up again.

Curious, you have a couple around, how often do you see them during the day? This one seemed awfully brazen, 11 o'clock in the morning, 40 feet from the house trying to tackle a goose.

Your spread sounds idyllic!

We have had three ranch cats over the years. One was prone to wandering, as in I saw her more than once a half mile away, sitting in the middle of a field. After a decade plus, we did lose her to something. Whether it was old age, a hawk, vulture, a coyote, or bobcat, I don't know. One we still have and one died early in the Covid pandemic with symptoms of a bad respiratory infection.

So, I don't think bobcats are much of a risk, at least around here.

We are blessed, but, we don't have your weather, 97 today!

We built the house a little over a year ago, two of my cats had a little more energy then, I went out to get them back about 9pm with a flash light and laser sight, they love it and will come from anywhere to chase it. Two cats, three sets of eyes up in the trees, I figured it was a feral or bobcat. If it was the bc, I guess it didn't bother them then.

I need to put up some pictures of the place and my various 50% to 75% complete projects.........
