Out cat just turned up 2,000 miles away!!

The kids and I went to the airport and realized that I really didn't know where to go to pick her up. I asked the lady at the check in counter, and it turned out Socks was right there behind the counter!!

She was a little hesitant to come out of her cage, so we let her take her time. But once she was out, she was her old self. I guess she must be confused by what happened, but then again, maybe she doesn't think about those things?

Steph spent allot of time holding her last night, but I told her that there's no way we're having an indoor pet. She let her out, and it must have been ten minutes later, our son went out to see her. He came running back in to tell us that Socks had cought and killed a mouse!!!!!

Here's a quick picture of her back home and fatter then we remember.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. This is one of the strangest pet stories that I've ever experienced.

My wife said she could not understand how some people treated their cats/dogs like kids and she would never have an indoor house pet. Then one day a friend handed her a little ball of fur, an 8 wk old Cocker, the last of a litter, and said it was hers if she wanted it. It slept with us for 16 yrs.

I just now saw this thread. What a neat story! I am amazed that Socks was able to hang on under the RV for so long. So, did you bring her in yet?

Socks is doing good, and we think she's just about doubled in size since her little vacation to California. Steph has brought her in for short visitis, but I make a big deal about her being an outdoor animal and she'll be fine in the cold. Heck, it's only 40 degrees out at the lowest temps. That's not even getting close to being cold out for her, but Steph likes to thnik that animals have human feelings I think. LOL

I think most people that have close pets KNOW that animal have feelings that are very similar to humans. That's why we have at least one vegetarian in the family.
