AHS is a great l company. Jeff helped me out alot. I installed it myself and called him a few times with some questions. He was always very helpful and honest as far a s burn times and overall boiler performance is concerned.
I have the multi fuel wood/coal/oil boiler it works great and my co worker bought the gasification system you are looking at. He says it is an outstanding unit. He runs his radiant floor heat with it and it is very efficient.
I know they delivered my buddy's boiler. I picked mine up myself to save on paying the taxes. ( internet purchase ) Give them a call. I'm not sure if they will install it or not.

Newtoy,

Check out this site www.alternateheatingsystems.com
It will explain the gasification process. it does not go outside. It is an indoor boiler. Usually in your garage of basement. I guess you could insulate the crap out of it and put it outside but it would take some doing. This is a new technology that only a few companies are manufacturing. I know H.S. Tarm also makes a gasifier but it will REALLY cost ya and the wood has to be cut fairly small.

I bought the WC 55 model. I also added the soft coal linkage, the combustion blower and the Riello Oil burner. All these add ons raised the price substantially. I paid $5,899.00 It was the best investment I have made in quite a while.
Compared to an outdoor furnace this was not a bad price at all... And it is much more efficient.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Scesnick, Thanks for the info. I'll have to check them out. I already have a geo-thermal unit but I have been clearing lots of land and I have all this firewood and no fireplace. I figured a woodburner of some sort would be a wise investment with the current energy situation.
Thanks,

John

Sorry for the late response I have been tractoring much latley. Here is another site for these type of units with another link about gasification. I'm not sure I completely understand it but it is more effecient with more heat from the same amount of wood.
