Mike is down to earth and a hard worker! Look forward to every episode!

I agree, completely. Maybe he should do his video's like he has been, and then do something separate for Rural King. No doubt he scored a sweet deal, I'll just lose my interest if it turns into an infomercial...

I'm subscribed to his channel, I am also local to him, but I do not know him and have never met him. The rub I get from him and Wranglestar and others like that is that they started out being guys like us and then the money hook was set into their lip and they start pumping 3 videos a week because at some point, it became all about money. I don't know why, but it bothers me to know that by watching these guys, I am feeding money to them to do the same **** I do. I have a Youtube channel and put up a video a week or at times 2, but I don't do professional editing, I don't set up multiple cameras and make a production of my chores. I just shove a cheap $60 camera on a log or something and point it at my direction and I go about my thing. I don't beat my lips, I am not monetized, and I am not dreaming of fame and fortune.

I'm mixed on this, he says that he will not be biased, but of course he is a human and just taking the deal makes sure that he will in fact be influenced to some degree. Just like I own a Kubota so I am obviously biased towards that brand... If I were offered a free truck, tractor, pistol, camera... whatever... naturally my brain will be effected by the entire situation. I am not unsubscribing from Mike, and I hope that he maintains his down to earth attitude and integrity that he often claims. But I fear that he has at some level been bought and paid for.

He is no longer just a guy making videos of his antics. Everything he does, says and produces is about views and money. And our watching adds to that end.

 Well put. My feelings, exactly.

Construction guys don稚 run tractors.

I said contractor - landscape etc. I see road crews using CUT's all the time, even just to run a powered brush or a small blade. However, I have observed what Rock Crawler said as well.

Semantics....i.e. someone running a machine all day, every day.

I agree that Mike isn’t likely to put very many hours on them. I don’t think this was supposed to be a durability test either. I think it was more for exposure which clearly worked. I’d still take Mikes test more seriously than the stupid comparison videos made by the manufacturers. And a contractor might own a tractor, but they’re not doing the brunt of the work on a construction site. Tractors are a good choice for landscaping because they’re easy on turf and that’s not hard work ( for the equipment) for the most part.

There is a new commercial, I mean video, on the YouTube channel for an RK log splitter....

Geez, that was not too subtle, was it. Here's my problem -- the way this guy handles a chainsaw and works a log splitter, it won't be long before he loses a finger/hand or cuts his foot/leg open. I wonder if we'll see that video, or if RK will like that sort of association.

Seriously, seeing the log splitter sequence sped up like that makes it obvious he is going to smash a finger on his left hand sometime. I should know, because it happened to me, and I was not nearly as grab-happy around my splitter as this. It may not be obvious to the operator here, but I saw plenty of close calls, and when it does happen it happens fast. There is no reason for your left hand to be on the wood when the ram is moving forward. It's not a hand-rest and if there is any gain in productivity it would be minor in the grand scheme of things. Once you have a log splitter injury, the months of downtime, or lifetime with impaired use of your hand, will sure cancel out the fractions of seconds you save by putting your hand and fingers at risk.

I don't normally lecture on safety, but to me this is one of those cases where a Youtuber is not being too bright and setting a poor example. If anyone at RK has a brain or a issue with liability, they should be concerned too.

I watch Wranglerstar, and now I'll check out the Morgan's channel too. Both of them have been very clear to point out when they receive items for free, or as paid endorsements, and neither do much of that compared to the general project vids.

Wranglerstar makes vids because he professes to enjoy it, and he is good enough that others enjoy watching. Because of this, he has been able to turn it into his JOB. Personally, I'm jealous that he can make a living doing something he enjoys so much! I would bet that he works harder making vids for us to watch than most of us do working our own jobs... Or at least that he puts in more time at it...

I'll be curious to see how the Morgan's TYM works out. I had considered starting a TYM dealership on the side a year or so ago, and just couldn't find a suitable location locally. The tractors themselves are really good, and they're using Yanmar engines, which are also pretty dang good...

As for regen, I believe TYM's Yanmar uses a DOC, not a DPF. If you work the tractor, the DOC will constantly be in a state of "passive regen", which will keep it clean. If you putt around and idle it and lug it a lot, then it won't be able to passively regen, and the DOC will eventually require a manual regen as referenced in the owners manual. Hopefully Mike will be able to provide some additional insight into how often he has to park and perform the manual regen, but I was led to believe it should be fairly infrequently, if at all.

What he says in the video about RK not selling tractors is not entirely true. RK had made several attempts to sell tractors over the past 30 years, which never seemed to stay around very long. Mostly Chinese type tractors, but the corporate store in IL has had Massey Ferguson tractors in the store for about the last 10-15 years up until recently when that store started carrying the new YTM manufacturered tractors.
