Morgan isn't a "traditional' business with employees and PI Attorneys lurking about. If he is injured in the course of his endeavors, it is really only on him. Think a majority of folks are going to side with Wackey's position.

4570Man and Steppenwolfe,
Admit I also have Not seen a RK tractor. BUT I have seen the actual TYM version that the RK line is bases upon. They do Not possess every bell and whistle that the new Grand L series have, primarily the multifaceted Hydro transmission/engine speed interface. It is exactly the same as my MX, a basic hydrostatic transmission. Other than that, the STANDARD rear wiper, sound system, rear remotes, extra lights, that Kubota EXCLUDES, are INCLUDED with RK. AND lets not forget MIKE. He is Not an Idiot. He has shopped tractors, used them for years and is aware of market value and quality. I'll deduct $5K for the Grand L superior transmission, IGNORE the Extra items included on the RK. and revise the comparison price difference downward. New values are $30K vs $45K. Apologies for the previous exaggeration. Pine, Oak and Bamboo? and mini chicken references are simply unfair analogies.

Where are the 30 and 45k numbers coming from? I’m not trying to be a pain in the butt, I just haven’t seen price differences that drastic across other brands. I’m also admittedly not up to date on current new tractor prices.

.

I could care less of his or anyone else's opinion and if I get labeled "safety police" because of an opinion I am ok with that.

I used to be a lot more careless in my younger and dumber years; now I feel a little bit wiser. The guy was doing something pretty risky, filiming it and posting on youtube. There are a lot of people these days who use youtube as a DIY library.

IMO opinion if you put something out there for the world to watch it is irresponsible to do unsafe things. It might be entertaining; just not responsible. All I'm saying.

Now you could argue he has no obligation to anyone to be responsible and that would be correct. Youtube is a free zone full of people posting lots of incredibly dumb things. If I'm watching something that is DIY related though, I am done as soon as I see them being unsafe; just me the "safety cop".

I've watched some of his videos and enjoyed them. Looks like a good guy trying to keep up his acreage. Good for him getting the sponser deals. I wouldn't buy a tractor at RK but I still like the videos. If you don't like watching guys without ppe and chainsaws don't watch buckin billy ray on YouTube. That's my new favorite channel. I love watching that guy work and cut trees!

2nd Half,
I THINK WE ALL AGREE Eleanor Roosevelt was a wonderful roll model. But flying unescorted in a pacific war zone wasn't exactly safe.

4570MAN,
GLAD YOU asked, others might wonder the price origin as well. The Prices for the RK tractors are listed on the tractor website, but perhaps not on the store website. And the Kubota website allows a user to "Build and Price". A Grand L 60 series, similar horsepower with Loader, is just under $50K.(Options excluded) These values taken directly from Manufacturer/Dealer websites. (edit: using 55 hp tractors for the example)
The RK link: RK Tractors

An additional note. The U tube video Wackey posted actually shows Mike at a Kubota dealership. He is familiar with Comparisons. Now let's also not discount Rural king. They have NOT grown to over 100 stores by making bad decisions. They are closely held, so their sales volume isn't published, but to hazard a guess, I'd say $500+ million annual volume at minimum. I don't have a stake in their business, I am a online customer. But we can concede they are doing something correct, and these tractors are a value added item. I also suggest that as sales increase, so will the cost. Hard to believe there is much profit in current pricing structure. Look at it this way, 100 stores = 100 tractor dealerships. Impressive by any standards.

I love how guys post things out here for comment and opinion and when you give an opinion, that differs from theirs, they get all whining and start saying don't watch it and calling names. If you can't handle hearing an opinion that differs from yours you should probably find a cooking site.

2nd half,
Thanks, can you recommend a good "cooking" website? Which is your favorite?

This is what I like about YouTube, real people doing real things. The safety police and political correctness makes broadcast TV unwatchable. The only thing I watch live any more is college football, and I have to put up with the brain dead commercials and it's just about to do me in.

And for those that say "he sold out", you may not have any idea how long it takes to set up the cameras and you can't realize how long it takes to edit these videos. A 15 minute video can take at a minimum, 10 hours to edit. It is worse if you use 2 cameras. The sailing channels I watch say that the typical 30 minute film takes about 40 hours to edit.

My take on this -- if it's someone interesting, showing something I can learn from, awesome. I appreciate that it takes them time to put the videos together and am truly thankful.

On the other hand, if it's something I consider day to day work, stuff any landowner or farmer on my road does without fanfare, I really don't need to watch somebody turn that into a TV show. To me that borders on attention seeking. If somebody wants to spend hours making a video for that kind of thing, "whoop-de-do", as Archie Bunker would say with an eye roll. I'd rather put the hours into the actual work.

WOW! Where do I start, (This is Mike BTW from Outdoors With The Morgans) Let me start with this. First I will tell you a little about myself. Lived in Pa my entire life, married with 4 kids oldest with autism non verbal. Worked heavy highway construction for years mostly as a blaster. Got to blow things up for a living. About 6 or 7 years ago the company I worked for got sold and I didn't like how things were shaping up so I took a job in oil & gas that has been a huge blessing. Anyway I own some land that joins my moms place and I recently bought more. My hobby is prettying much anything outside, hunting, fishing, firewooding, tractors, jeeps, really anything. I enjoy doing things some people hate like mowing. About a year ago I decided to start a youtube channel (no idea why) but I also wanted to do my best to make what I thought were good videos. I don't like shaky videos, wind noise or poorly edited videos. But I had a problem because I had no idea how to make a video but I learned. First video i made about firewood literally took 12 hours to edit, i was ready to smash the computer but I got through it. I try to make videos for everyone who enjoys having their own little piece of the planet. Doesn't matter if it's someone that never even sat on a tractor or someone thats been doing it for years. It took about 3 or 4 months to get to a 1,000 subscribers and now I got almost 2,000 new ones in the last week and 1/2.

Do I make money at youtube? Absolutley, so far if you figured all the money I have made divided by the hours I put into I have probably made about $3.50 per hour lol. Youtube is not my job, I have one of those. A good one.
