Think I did hear of someone becoming pregnant at some ridiculous age (like 5 or something) years ago in Argentina or someplace.

She works with children 0 to 6 with severe emotional disturbances (not children which are pregnant). She works with schools, preschools, daycare centers, and parents to help them better understand those types of children.

Real deterence is what's required. In the extreme look at Saudi Arabia; prayer time in the 'diamond district' and everyone leaves their doors open. Why? The last to play self serve was Saturday entertainment in the town square.

So many explanations that in total explain, but imo foremost is lack of accountability and the rich and famous skating away from theirs (Clinton, OJ, etc.). Followed closely by TV. Can't believe what is targeted at young kids. Have to censor what my 4 y/o watches--all violence (where no one dies) and no one pays a price. Next the liberal whiners who have an excuse for everything. I agree--they need treatment--rope treatment.

I agree. I watch for the cartoons my six year old watches. Some of the stuff out there is TERRIBLE! I don't want him watching most stuff that's out there.

Evening TV isn't much better.

The other one for me is Pro-wrestling. I used to love to watch big time wrestling in the 70's; Pat Patterson, Moondog Mane ect. But that was fun. The stuff out these days is so violent, and DARK. I refuse to let my kid watch it.

Thanks for agreeing with me. It's hard to understand why congress doesn't see the damage being done to society by TV and pass laws to stop it!

I commend you for not letting your kid watch pro-wrestling. I was (and am) a wrestling watcher dating back to the 50s (Dick The Brusier, Bobo Brazil, Cowboy Bob Ellis, Shiek *S* ) but agree that it's harmful to kids now. You gotta wonder what parents are thinking when they take their kids to these events and see everything but "wrestling". I find it to be funny because as an adult I realize it's just entertainment but what affect is it having on a kid's behavior when he sees the chairs smashed over heads, fist fights in parking lots, bloody faces, profanity, demeaned women, etc.?

Believe me, there is a lot wrong with quite a few people these days. As others have said, learning basic responsibility starts at home and is built on by others.. teachers, coaches, ministers etc. When the parents fail, it's very tough for the others to take up the slack. I constantly see parents who refuse or are afraid to set limits for their kids, afraid that if they tell Johnny no that he won't grow up to be an astronaut or president. In fact learning limits is essential to developing normally, including a normal personality and a conscience. Good parenting is active parenting. Just because you can get pregnant or get someone pregnant doesn't make you a parent. It's too bad there's not a licensing exam.
