The previous owner installed a regular house type 80,000 BTU oil furnace in the attic of my garage, I only turn it on if I am going to be working in the garage when it is cold outside. The temperature inside the garage seldom goes below freezing even when unheated. If I kept it heated all the time it would cost at least $100 a month for fuel - more than I am willing to pay.

I figured that if the garage was heated, it would be pretty much when your going to use it. For some reason, our electric utility company, Pacific Gas and Electric, is quite proud of their electricity. While it may cost 13 cents a KW, thats half the story, the distribution and transmission add considerably more. Suffice it to say, hardly anyone heats with electricity out here in PG&E land and that includes heat pumps. On the bright side, it makes recouping your cost to install and purchase solar panels quicker.... :( I would definitely consider a setup like yours for my shop.

or else his wife is ready to explain to your wife why the t ractor should not be in the garage and that would be a step backward. If your wife lets you park your tractor in the garage I would not let her talk to anyone elses wife about tractors just in case. :)
Hmmm... you're right gemini5362. I'll step back on this one. I don't want to lose my established privileges. :D

I'm very blessed, all my stuff is inside, heated primarily with wood, propane backup if I get lazy. No cold engine starts, square tires, squealing hydraulics, iced up controls.

I'm a firm believer that a shelter, even unheated, will pay for itself in a very few years by extending the life of anything plastic, vinyl and/or rubber.

I also believe a man's creativity is expanded in a heated shop or even an unheated building. Those days when the weather sucks can be put to good use playing, I mean working, building something new. :)

Tractor, BH and all implements are outside all the time. No tarp. It doesn't need to be pretty, just functional. If I had a barn, I'd park it inside. Planning for a carport type shelter eventually.

Outside. I don't have a garage yet. Finishing the basement first then figuring out a garage.

Gotta have the block heater for this situation though.

Priorities, priorities, priorities.....

Inside, unheated garage with the the Harley. Value of 8 year old Kubota already better than wifes 5 year old SUV so it gets the coveted spot!!

I had my tractor and my boat in the garage all summer, then winter came............and my wife said her mini van is going in the garage even if the boat and tractor both go out in the snow bank. So the next weekend I was able to clean the garage enough to fit the boat and minivan in the garage. Unfortunately, the tractor had to go outside. I figured the tractor could handle it better than the boat........you see who wears the pants in this house hold!: :(

You have a new Kubota B3030 with loader and cab?! I'd have that boat out there in the elements in a heartbeat! It should be able to handle the water, whether frozen or not. It's a boat for heaven's sake! A tractor is, well . . . need I say more. Okay, a tractor should be cherished and almost worshipped. But that's just me. Actually, if it were me I'd sell the boat and buy a few implements.

Mahindra outside where I can see it when I look out the window. It has a canopy and is used frequently. Goes inside when real cold cuz theres plain water in the tires.

It would be nice if I had room inside my shop for my tractor or even me for that matter. I have mine under roof and out of the sun which out here is the most important thing. Of the Red, Green, Blue and Orange makes, I think Orange is the most easily oxidized by the sun, especially the loader. When it comes time to sell mine, the outside appearance will matter to folks more then any other detail.

Garaged no matter what, I built a new house and made sure I had a three car garage for my RTV 900 and I keep my m6800 and F3680 mower all in a garage. that is the only way to keep nice equipment.

I have a 3-car garage too. Unfortunately with the sunshade canopy on my tractor it won't fit in the garage. It has to stay out in the cold barn.:( But at least it's out of the elements.:D

The tractor is parked inside an unheated barn. A block heater keeps it ready to go when needed via an extension cord running from the house to the barn. (You might be a redneck if...) When the truck would not start on Feb. 4 the Kubota pulled then pushed the F-150 into the barn for heating. I have now made room for both B3030 and F-150 in the barn.

Inside my new 24'x12'x8' instant garage I picked up at TSC on black friday for $249

Went to www.instantgarages.com and prices were no where near that cheap. A search on TSC gave me nothing as well. Any pointers on finding one?

So right now? OUTSIDE

Current house - no room. Future home site, nothing out there and don't trust anyone to not mess with it if I left it there. Soooooooooooooooo... It is sitting on the trailer w/ rotary cutter attached. Trailer is attached to truck so I can get it and go this Saturday. Tiller and scrape are on the ground beside the trailer. PHD and auger are in the bed of the truck cause I don't know what to do with them. Can you tell I'm new at this?!?!? Sigh....

New house will have 4 garage bays, so HOPEFULLY sweet wife will let me have 1 of them! ha!!

My pole barn is 30 x 40 but only 8 feet high so when I bought a cab tractor it wouldn't fit inside. I put two sliding doors in the end of the barn, now have about 4 inches to spare on top and plenty of room on both sides to drive in.

Tractor (L3750) is inside canvas shelter. Implements are outside under tarps. Project for 2007 is to build a 3 bay garage for the tractor, boat, and implements. (heated of course !)

Hey KarolinaKubota,

Find a Costco! Their "shelters" were $169 in Atlanta last week. Make sure to ANCHOR it down for wind resistance! Mine have lasted about 4-5 years before the roof tarp gets shabby.
