Buddy, you're a year+ behind the times, and need to keep up on companies that likely hate what you stand for...
Make sure you're spending your hard-earned money at businesses, that don't think you're the 'bad guy', or promote other groups who say you are.

Edit: Now, I see that you're in Austria, and this wouldn't relate to you. Hopefully, you have better retailers there.
Sorry couldn't disagree with you more. TSC should focus on what it does. Sell hobby farm items and etc., nothing more. No need to cater to groups on one side of the aisle or the other to try and curry favor and purchases from that group. In the old days that was called pandering. Same goes for Budweiser, John Deere, Target and others. Just do what you do and be good at it. Hire and promote people because they are good at their job, not because they check a box. Practices good for the environment should be encouraged and a smart company will focus on those that save money not again because it checks a box. If the CEO wants to give millions of his own money to specific groups well its a free country and I am all for that.

I have used truck mud flaps on the ground with equipment on pallets if possible. I was able to source used mud flaps from a local truck dealer. When the trucks arrive from the body upfitter, they normally have the upfitter's mud flaps with the name of the upfitter. Most truck dealers prefer to install their own mud flaps with the name of the truck dealership. The takeoffs usually just get discarded. Talk to the guys in the shop. They are glad to get rid of them.

Like many, I need to store some of my attachments outside. Problem is, keeping the weeds down around them, especially the ones you don't use very often.

Does anyone have any unique ideas for keeping the weeds at bay?

Landscape fabric is far too weak. Round up or other herbacides are a pain as you need to keep applying them.

A big concrete pad would be nice, but too expensive.

I've tried using big heavy livestock rubber matts, but they too are expensive and hard to find used reasonably priced ones.

Any other thoughts?
I use a bag of Calcium chloride , they sell it to lay dust or melt ice in winter . Once a year I sprinkle a pound of so over a 20 by 20 area , keeps it completely barren except the odd thistle I have to hack off

TSC is about the only place I buy weed killer as the local hardware and big box only small sizes at big prices.

What is bad about TSC?

TSC is a good place to buy herbicide if you don't have access to farm store. Local TSC 2.5gallon 41% glyphosate 99.99. Southern states co-op (local farm store) 41% 2.5 gallon 47.95. Realize everyone doesn't have those farm store in their area. But will say TSC better prices than big box stores

I use Ortho Ground Clear. Follow mixing instructions and spray liberally on a sunny day in the Spring. Spray all around the storage area once a year. It's like Roundup but has a longer term weed preventer. Here in Oregon. I find it kills very well within a couple of weeks and keeps weeds down until the next Spring or longer. A 1 gallon jug of concentrate costs about $30 at Home Depot or Lowe's. Cheaper than ground sterilizers.

Old carpet works great. It's heavy & won't allow vegetation through it. I have some scraps under several things that really help. Bromacil is an inexpensive bare-ground herbicide that will keep vegetation away long-term - but, if it's in an area that will erode, be careful...you may have a hole when you come back.

I’ve used RM43 with excellent results. You can also find those large plastic pads they set A/C’s on to keep your stuff off the dirt

Two options I have used are old roofing shingles laid out with some overlap. I also use around the ground for deer blinds as hard to mow in those areas.
Trouble with old roof shingles is that they're a real PITA to clean up if/when you decide to use that spot for something else.

My wife used to work at a flooring store, so I'd occasionally get carpet scraps. Didn't work so well to keep weeds down in pathways in the garden because dirt would collect in the fibers and stuff would grow in it. I suppose you could keep it vacuumed. 🙃
It's also good to weigh down a tarp on an odd-shaped object.

Like any store TSC has better prices on some items, others not so good. Shop around. I really don't care about a company's corporate policies as long as I get a decent product at a fair price.
No "real" farm stores around here. Even the nearest Agway is an hour away.
