I got tired of being pushed around a little by the bush hog so I bought one of these at TSC yesterday. But I'm not sure how it attaches or rather stays attached. I see 2 holes inside the part that slips over the PTO shaft and it seems like something needs to be in them to keep the clutch attached. I'm afraid to run it today without is being firmly attached to the PTO shaft. How is it supposed to stay attached? Or did I buy one that was missing parts?

Thats the one! Was the roll pin supposed to come with it? And I would need to remove one of the zerks to install it right.

I would think the roll pin should have come with it but do not know that for sure. Yes, remove the grease zerks to install. If it doesn't come with one measre the hole and tsc has spring pins such as this. Spring Pin Kit Assortment - 1833480 | Tractor Supply Company Make sure you drive the pin all the way to the middle section (centered), it won't turn if you don't.

This is the exact one I got from TSC and yes it came with the Pin, actually the clutch was wrapped in a yellow netting and the roll pin was wired to it,
If the one you have was not in this netting than I suppose the pin would not have been with it, go back to TSC and tell them the pin was missing, I'm sure they'll give you one,;)
and BTW be sure to pump grease into it, and keep a check on it each time you use it,
for the price they cost I would thought they be a good one, but the fact is they are the el-chep-os , will start to wear out without packed grease inside,
I prefer the one with the push spring, but this was all I could find at the time,

yep.. usually takes a 2-5/16 roll pin and yes.. they are usually under the netting protectingthe pto stub.

remove at least one of the fittings and drive the roll pin in so that it clears the outter portion, which should spin freely in one direction, and lockup in the other.. reinstall zerk, then grease the snot out of both sides till grease comes out the back edge. remember to grease the zerk when you do your u-joints.. etc.

Mine came with a slip section that you simply slide back and it attaches like a standard pto shaft. There are no pins necessary???

that is a QD style. the ones with 2 zerks or a zerk and plug 180 degrees apart are the pin on style.

the QD style won't fit all tractors.. ive seen a few where the pto flange protrudes enough to prevent it on some ORC designs.
