Follow the top radiator hose, it's gonna be on the end not attached to the radiator.

Dear Willy, Robin, Hay Dude, RockBadChild and Big Bubba
Thank you one and all for your advice. I found the thermostat and replaced it.(thanks Lineman and RockBadChild)
Now the temperature guage stays in the High green but as yet it has not gone into the red! So that’s a big step forward.
The radiator boils over when I stop the tractor? Is that OK? I have not replaced the coolant in the radiator yet.
By way of explanation, I am a retired equine veterinarian and Ilive in a small country town called Wagga Wagga in NSW, Australia. I did my residency training in Pullman, Washington and I was a surgeon at the University of Minnesota for a few years.
I am sorry for my ignorance about all things mechanical. I have great respect for all of you and your amazing knowledge about engines and farm vehicles etc etc
Thank you again for your help.

The radiator should not be boiling over, I would pull the lower radiator hose off and allow all of the existing coolant/water to drain out of the radiator then re-install the lower hose and re-fill the radiator with the correct mixture of coolant/water and try it again, then I would buy a can of foaming coil cleaner as I mentioned in my earlier post and spray the fins of the radiator allowing the coil cleaner to penetrate and loosen stuck dirt debris, etc and then wash out the fins with a hose and spray nozzle, good luck keep us posted.

Are the fan belts tight? A slipping belt on the fan could cause the fan not to pull enough air at idle when you stop forward motion, when you stop moving air thru the radiator. (although a dirty radiator is usually more likely the cause on a tractor). Even a little bit of slack could be an issue.
Hold a water hose behind the radiator and watch to see if the water is actually coming thru the radiator fins out the front. Try not to wash it from front to back, as you want to reverse what happens when your using your tractor.

OP: if the radiator boils over after the thermostat replacement, you might consider another option. you might inquire @ a reputable radiator shop if they do a complete back flow service to remove internal debris. plus check the circulation flow

back in the day took in my overheating Massey TO35 radiator to be "rodded out" that involved partial disassembly, made big difference. however don't think modern radiators are designed for that service
the shop may offer suggestions

For the juice for the radiator I only use the red stuff and mix 50/50 its
been so long ago that I changed any radiators and what I remember on the bottle I always mix my own never purchase ready mix and I do
believe that the 50/50 mix is good
for -50 F. If the lower hose is spongey I would change it
