Has anyone found rattle can (or brush) paint for the YM1700? Mine is the red, cream, and pale green version. Live on the coast and want to stay ahead of rust if I can. Thanks! Steve
Rustoleum Spruce Green is a decent match for the green. The off white can be Krylon Ivory, although many times wheels have been painted already, so it may be off a little. The red is tougher in my opinion. It isn't too far off of what we find locally as Safety Red or Massey Ferguson Red. Again, not all Yanmar reds are the same, so this can complicate things.
I take a piece of what ever color I need to our local Ace Hardware and they can scan it. Their Rust Stop enamel brushes on well with a fine hair brush like sabel from a hobby shop. The match is usually perfect. I usually use this for touchup. I have rolled it on with a foam roller and the finsh looks like the finish on an ice box. It isn't as slick as a sprayed finish but very servicable for rough working equipment. It can be sprayed with Naptha thinner.
For the frame use Rustoleum Spruce Green 7737 and for the wheels use Paint Rustoleum Almond 7770. For the hood and fenders I have used Massey Ferguson red.
