Tractor
Yanmar YM2000A-A
I purchased this tractor (the little red one, please ignore the green one) probably 2 years ago but I am not sure what model it is, if anyone could tell me I would be thankful. The side plates were missing, I'm assuming the model number were on that. Some things that may help with model ID that I've read on the forums are it has a 2tr20a-a engine, PTO has 3 speeds + off, Pull back to increase throttle. I'm guessing YM2000 or YM240?

You have a rare model, YM2000A-A

The YTOG has the parts manual for it. It sort of shares things with a YM240, yet it is slightly different.

Thank you, I've tried searching for a while but nothing ever seemed to match, this explains it. Its a great little work horse. I will get some more pictures and post for posterity now that I know what to label it as.

From your posted picture, there have been a few parts substitutions. Example, the overflow bottle is not original, the fender hand hoops are not and neither are the fender lights. It has an after market exhaust too. Missing is the front weight bar. It does have the original Japan rice tires.

Sure post a few more. Would like to see the dash and controls too.
Thanks

Yes the overflow bottle is a hack job, I'd like to find an original I believe goes on the front of the radiator. The only thing I've added was the 2 inch receiver on the tree crusher bumper and replaced the key switch with a pull start switch. Its only problem it has is no brakes. Not sure if its a linkage or pad problem. I don't get a lot of time to work on it as it is 100 miles away on my soon to be retirement property and don't have time to tinker with it much. Going there Tuesday, Thanks again.

When you get the chance to Chk. the brakes chances are you can turn the shoes around. The tail of the pad is what wears so if it hasn't been done basically new pads. Turned mine when I had a axle seal problem I replaced while in both sides. Just Hubs,

you might find that you can simply turn the shoes around on the brakes
Yep. I did that on the YM240 (essentially the same tractor) 20 years ago to get a second 20 years use of the brakes, no problems yet.
