Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of taking my L35 rusty and scratch areas and spray paint them. I bought 2 1qt bright orange II and tried spraying some parts but seems too thick or something. Now I don't have a real good sprayer but have sprayed other things and the paint seemed to flow alot better. My question is do I have to thin this paint or stay with the thick globs and such? If I do have to thin what is the proper amount? Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you.

I used some of the very same. It does need some laqure thinner! Run it through a disposable paint strainer as well.

Thanks JonE,

I did some painting today and even think that it depends on the paint in different containers. The reason I say this is that the other quart seemed thinner by sound when shaking it so I placed that in my paint gun and this time it sprayed fine with the same air flow and paint flow. Huh? I basically think I got a bad batch../w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Oh well painting is pretty much done anyway so won't worry about it until next time.

Darin,You need to thin the paint about 3-1,1 part ENAMEL thinner(proper temperature) and also add a Catalist or Hardner. The Kubota paint is no different than any other Auto type paint,it needs to be mixed.

Thanks MReeter I will keep that in mind when I do the painting again. This time I think I will mask everything off, hoses, engine compartment, fittings, valve bodies, cylinders, etc and blast the whole thing. It's amazind what the sun and weather do to paint finishes. Yeah, yeah I know it's a tractor but darn it I like to look good when I'm on it and I have to rely totally on the tractor to do that../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif because if it were up to the way I operate it and the way I look I wouldn't look goood at all /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.
