Followup report. See post #1.

Today I made a trip on I5 which passes within about two miles of Winlock. I decided this would be a good chance to check on the pallets and make a progress report.

The photos are from the road about 100 feet east of the railroad tracks where the first photos were taken from the train. The fence lines visible in the photos is where the RR tracks are. The first couple of photos were taken from a roadside wide spot, and for the others, I stopped on the road, which had no traffic. It was raining. I took the photos from the truck as I didn't to walk closer with nothing for self-defense with me.

There were no obvious pallets visible, but there were a large brown clumps of something where the pallets stacks were previously.

Does anyone have any ideas on what happened to the pallets and what these large brown things are?

Bruce

Seeing that is almost two months later in the season than the time you first spotted them, they could be on the move south. Too bad you weren't able to analyze the brown residue they left. We really are short of clues.

God bless you, Bruce, for braving the elements (and Lord knows what else) to capture these photographs. You are a man amongst men.

It is your Autumn and we're fast approaching the time of year when the "Pallets in Fields" were first observed.

I can only urge the entire TBN community to be vigilant... the truth is at hand!

I suspect the original pallets have moved on, but left behind egg cases to hatch out in the spring.

Or...the grim possibility that below the brown residue are the remains of their many victims.

Well, it is getting pretty close to Halloween. :D

So what is the facebook comment about "trials"... dog trials? Have we solved this thing? Why the heck do people stack these stupid pallets into a inverted V? Why do people put pallets in their fields.? These are the burning questions. Eggs notwithstanding.. Where is Sparc when you need him?

When I see pallets in fields hindering line of sight, my first thought is improvised structures for paintball battles.

Dang, got sucked into a zombie thread without even knowing it.

Down here in Caroline we're presently having less trouble with pallets than with creepy clowns. The two could be connected for all I know.

I was telling my wife, before you know it, it will be illegal to be dressed as a clown. God forbid if you were dressed as a clown and carried a firearm.

I found simply amazing at how much news time the "clown issue" was recieving by televised news.

They did bust one guy (forgot if it were in Greensboro or Charlotte) for making a fake clown report.

Just trying to use common sense, not certain exactly how inconspicuous you're going to be if you're particpating in an illegal activity dressed as a clown.

They were actually talking to the boys about it at school. I joked with my wife I was going to tell the boys that the game cam ended up picking up a clown walking out back and that I had seen some clown prints out back as well. My wife didn't find it to humorous.

The Clowns are just a diversion. Have you noticed not one politician has mentioned pallets in the campaign and what they are going to do about the threat?:confused: Is the government behind this??

I know something funny is going on; the motion light in my driveway keeps coming on at odd times and odd hours...but I can never find the culprit; just some ghostly shadows behind the trees.

ME: Thank you. Finally the pallet crisis has faded, and we can safely get back to our normal lives without this irrational fear of the unknown.

GOD: Send in the clowns.

I'm up here in WA and have been bracing for this for some time. I say, bring on the attack of the zombie pallets! I've got a mean set of pallet forks and, well, if my new tractor would only get here, QUICK!

I think you might be onto something. The newscasters really jump all over the clown threat and sat not a word about pallets in fields. Maybe they want us to forget.

Bruce, did you happen to stop in at Winlock? Perhaps talk to any of the locals... subtly enquiring at the local diner about where one might acquire some good quality pallets?

And if you did, were you wearing a fedora?
