It’s not a common thing. Start a poll of how many people have had to replace their emissions systems. Doubtful that many will have done this.
This is very true.
It should also be noted that it's mostly people who have had trouble that post. Not many that I've seen.
People that are happy generally don't post.

Owners with no dpf problems are without a doubt the silent majority.

For what it's worth, I hate DPF's, SCR and all that stuff. Just because the potential is there for costly repairs.
But the other day at my Kubota dealer I was out in the yard looking at new LX's and L's and one of the young mechanics walked by. I asked if he sees many problems with those models and he said no.
And this dealer has a lot of them sold to snow contractors.

A lot of people haven't been in a car accident. I still want airbags.

Many people have had emissions problems. It's smart to know the risks.

Exactly. I've ran three class 8 trucks with SCR. Two weren't too bad, but still the odd minor issue, one almost made me suicidal.

As for my tractors, I'm lucky enough that, for my chores, I can get by with tractors like the B/LX/L2502 that have no emissions aftertreatment and I have bigger vintage tractors if needed.
I choose to stay with those models because I have no risk of ever needing expensive repairs or a tractor sitting at the dealer instead of in my yard working. May never happen, but the possibility is there.

I went through two def tanks for my m5-111. The last recall was the fix. No problems for the last few years. It regens often. Probably because I don't run it hard enough. I don't like that when I am mowing, and the dpf is about full I can't do a manual regen. It's not that easy doing loader work at high rpm with a manual transmission.

The replies from people who haven't had problems yet aren't actually useful.

I would be happy to listen to anyone that had problems. A 25HP tractor with 20HP @ the PTO is not enough for my needs. I have 60 to 70 acres I hit at least once a year with the brush hog and a 6' Woods finish mower used on a few acres. I have an eight foot breaking disk and a tiller to make side by side trails along with a rock rake and box blade. If I buy new I will be getting a DPF.
