Mine are cast.
What is the difference between the two? The only ones I see that are still fabricated are the Cat 1 to Cat 2, OR Cat 2 to Cat 1. Everything else is cast. Read somewhere that they are tested to 20,000+ lbs for the Cat 1, and 40,000 ibs for the Cat 2.Are yours the all cast or the earlier fabricated style?
I have the cast design, I'll try to get a measurment when I get home in the morning.
Nothing I can tell other then the manufacturing process. The early versions were fully fabricated, newer cat. 1 are cast, guessing it was more cost effective to cast the most popular cat. 1.What is the difference between the two? When I bought mine years ago it came with double nuts for the U-bolts.Suggestion: double nut the u-bolt nuts.. My first mowing, I lost 3 of the 4 despite having torqued the nuts. Lots of vibration back there. I double nutted using a jam nut. No troubles since. Love the PATS...
Yes it came with double nuts, but I opted to bypass the for nylon locknuts as was recommended by several folks. I just hadn't put them on yet in the picture.Suggestion: double nut the u-bolt nuts..
