I just measure my ball width this morning, they are Cat 2, but are only 1.25 wide. Went ahead and ordered the Cat 1... fingers crossed.

Are yours the all cast or the earlier fabricated style?

I have the cast design, I'll try to get a measurment when I get home in the morning.
What is the difference between the two? The only ones I see that are still fabricated are the Cat 1 to Cat 2, OR Cat 2 to Cat 1. Everything else is cast. Read somewhere that they are tested to 20,000+ lbs for the Cat 1, and 40,000 ibs for the Cat 2.

Nothing I can tell other then the manufacturing process. The early versions were fully fabricated, newer cat. 1 are cast, guessing it was more cost effective to cast the most popular cat. 1.
I'd guess they don't sell enough of the other models to get the casting made so they still fab those?

After conferring with AskTractorMike, I went with the Cat 1. Got them a couple of days ago, trimmed the 1-3/4" long Cat2/1 bushings down by 3/8", and put it all together. Worked like a charm.

Suggestion: double nut the u-bolt nuts.. My first mowing, I lost 3 of the 4 despite having torqued the nuts. Lots of vibration back there. I double nutted using a jam nut. No troubles since. Love the PATS...

Yes it came with double nuts, but I opted to bypass the for nylon locknuts as was recommended by several folks. I just hadn't put them on yet in the picture.
