Only problem I had was that my top cylinder was just a tad too short for some of my implements once the easy change was on -- just replaced it with a longer ($$$) cylinder.
I had to get a PTO extension for my rotary cutter. Here's a link to a previous discussion on the subject. Not a specific drawback to Pat's, but in general for all quick-change hitches that put the implement further away from the PTO shaft.
Is anyone using this device on a JD 4310? I am interested in buying one but I am not sure it will fit on my 3 pt hitch lift arms. Information on Pat's web site states "Requires approximately 4" of straight arm". My tractor does not meet this requirement. The lift arms angle in almost immediately. I emailed Pat's and the reply was that it would work but I am still somewhat skeptical. Can anyone confirm this?
I've got the same thing going on with my TC45. I've got the adjustable arms and don't have those 4" either. I emailed Pat's with the same question, got the same answer, but have the same skepticism. Hope someone here can give us a good answer. I doubt Pat's would give us any trouble returning it if it didn't work ... I'd just hate to go through the time & trouble -- if I lived where my tractor lives I would - but it's 3 hours away which makes doing anything on it just that much more of a problem. And... when I'm there I need to be on the seat - getting the work done .. I only have weekends available.
I just purchased a Gearmore quick hitch (GQH) instead of Pat's. I had been leaning towards Pat's at first, but decided against it. The primary reason was Pat's only dealt with the lower arms, which meant I would lose some adjustment capability in my upper link - the quick hitch would effectively "extended" the lower arms by about 3-4". I wasn't sure if going with Pat's would be a problem lining up since the lower arm spacing was dictated by whatever the stabilizer's could provide. The Gearmore had fixed spacing which matched up fine for my implements. I also like that it picks up all three points on the implements at the same time.
