Go Quick Hitch and never look back (pun intended).

I wouldn't spend the money for Pat's to install on telescoping arms. Just don't think it's worth the cost. You will learn how to use your telescoping arms and will be able to stop the tractor in the proper position to hitch up with only trip out of the seat. Then the next step to speeding up that process is the QH. So if you are bound to spend money, go QH and skip the intermediate step. :)

I agree with you whole heartedly. I have the telescoping links, and I decided not to re-use my Carters that I had on my previous tractor that was equipped with solid link ends.

Here is how I would rate the various systems. Solid link ends=0... frustrating and a pain in the...

Pats and Carters=1 Much better than solid link ends, but still have to hook up top link.
Telescoping Links=1 also, still have to hook up top link, and you do have to know how close to back up to reach, but dont have to exactly line up, like Pats and Carters.

One piece quick hitch=2.. gets it all at once. Once piece quick hitch with topNtilt =2.5:)

Delta hitch, maybe a 3?

I don't think that there is really a question here is there??? :confused3: Top & tilt with a Delta Hook and an empty bank account  and you are pretty much all set for anything.

The Pat's slide in replacement for the telescoping arms can't be telescoped. It removes that feature. I had them.

The standard clamp-on Pat's apparently work fine on the telescoping arms from other people's posts on the issue. Of course, it extends the lower lift arms about 4" - 5", or so. The toplink has to make up the adjustment.

I finally decided on the weld-on Pat's. The balls of the telescoping arms were cut off and the Pat's welded in their place. Then you get the Pat's and the telescoping feature. It is actually quite handy for extending the Pat's to perfectly fit the implement.

And, yes, those OEM Kubota extensions are ridiculously expensive.

.......................

Note the Pat's slide in replacement has a single hole. The OEM Kubota arm has an "L" shaped hole for sliding and locking. The locking/unlocking lever is also not necessary with the Pat's.

hey gwdixon, thanks for all the info, now your idea of using the stock Kubota telescopic arm with the Pat's welded on , sounds like the fix.. You have quite a spread of equipment there, looks good. You are fairly close to me it sounds..I have some friends in Dixon. Thanks again for your input.

Except if one owns implements that some are Cat l & some are Cat ll such as I do then a quick hitch won't fit both Cat type hitches.

Agree 100% with this ^^. All implements must be an exact fit or modified to an exact fit for the solid frame type QH.

To fdrr: Although my name is Dixon, I live in Vacaville...one town to the west of Dixon here in N. CA. It causes confusion, especially since my business name is Dixon Farms.

If you can do the welding, or have it done, then the weld-on Pat's is the perfect solution since the hitch's geometry is retained.

The weld-ons eliminate some of the issues that the clamp-on Pat's Quick Connect causes...like top link length (especially hydraulic!!) and PTO shaft length for hooking up implements. They are not insurmountable problems, but are solved with the weld-ons.

One point about the cat 2 PEC's - they don't fit everything Cat 1 well. I had to take them off to use my Cat 1 5' tiller on my M4700. I know the tiller is small for the tractor, but it was $800 (and I can use it on my B7610 also).

But for my chipper they are a great time saver because that is a female dog to shift around by hand.

I am relatively certain that a Delta Hook can be made to fit ANY size implement, without changing anything on the implement. All you do is speed a ton of $$$$$ and put the female receiver on each and every implement. That is what is "one" of the things that is so good about the Delta Hook system.

So your cat 1-2 argument does not apply to this system.

I'm a firm believer (but can't afford to practice) in lot's of implements and 1 tractor per implement.
