You keep mentioning prostitution and drug dealers, apparently you are more familialar with that type of business than I am.

Like others have stated, the danger of pay day loans losing to the state government is because of bank lobbying. Banks hate payday loans because it hurts their profit.

Oh I see, you think our elected officials are only concerned with ethical and moral norms that could harm society, I guess bank lobbyists have not had their "voice" heard by these same elected officials.

Again, representatives are NOT concerned with what is ethical or moral. Abortion is legal, but payday loans are not, so abortion must be moral and ethical, right? Ummm, yeah, OK.

#1 for most elected officials is getting reelected. If there are more votes coming from the anti payday loan block of voters then the operation is at risk.

Office was next door to one many years ago. Most were retirees on SS. It was so said. Some many people do not have a clue about money management. It is next to impossible to get off that tread mill once it is started without intervention from an outside source. By that time often there is too much damage to be of assistance.

It is like an alcohol, drug, gambling, etc addiction and can be interrelated even.
