Peace at home... via clean boots. What do you use?

Going inside the house with a pair of muddy boots is a one-time deal. (You married guys know exactly what I mean.)

Shoe scrappers and boot brushes don't work. Water hose is too much trouble. I simply slip mine off at the door and step into a pair of house shoes that I leave at the door for that purpose.

That's pretty much how we operate, too. Shoes come off inside the door. There's even a shoe/boot organizer in the laundry room. We wear house shoes or just socks inside.
(I say "pretty much" because we have a know-it-all teenager who can't ever seem to remember that his Mother just yelled at him earlier in the day about wearing his boots in the house. )

Since the shop is between the house and barn I usually stop in for a good blast of compressed air. Boots, pants, jacket and shirt too B/4 going to the house.
Bigger problem is the three jack Russel terriers we share our home and hearth with. That's twelve little feet that love to explore and chase anything with a pulse.

My Grandpa said they rolled logs across the living room floor because they were to heavy to carry when he was a child. I'd guess the muddy boots were the least of their worries. But then again they had few of the modern luxuries we have today so I can live with the insult of being a modern man. I'm guessing you also use many modern luxuries so I guess you're also a modern man.

Before the honeymoon ended, I didn't need to go into the house. I would honk the horn and Mrs.tiller would come running out with a cold beer.

Yep. I have a line run to the bottom of the stairs, and a cheapo HF hose and air gun stationed there. We all clean off before going in. Just takes a minute.

just a thought...next pair of boots look for what they call "boa" laces...hard to explain but a button pushes in and you turn it to lace them. Taking them off you pull on that button and the boot opens wide. I can slip in and out of my boots with no effort in seconds. Does take 15 seconds or so to tighten them but it's all on the tiny knob. My wife got me a pair from LL Bean $$$$ but she also found them at Cabela's for herself and the boys.

No insight or spelling ability. Learn the man's name. And while you're at it, change your Z to J. Sad.
