I have noticed a couple of things about my new tractor. When it arrived the loader was a much lighter color than the tractor. After 30 hours the paint began to peel. Then when I crawled under it I noticed that one of front tires was peeling on the inside as if it had been exposed to sun. The tire logo was on the inside. So my question is are these things normal? I am thinking it is A 3015 and
because it was being phased out, it sat around somehwre for a while. Are these things that I should bring to the dealers attention and expect some sort of response?

Definitely!

What has happened here? Has the dealer seen/fixed your issues? Can we get an update?

Well, he looked and said it was normal for the paint to peel, it was normal for the tires to peel and I just wasn't strong enough to use all three levels of the brakes. I have a tire that keeps losing air and he said I must have driven over a nail that fell out. Seems unlikely when I think about it but the tractor runs and I have 45 hours on it. He did offer me some touch up paint but said it wouldn't match. I also have had some trouble starting it the last couple of weekends but after I futzed around with the gears and neutral it started. He may be right but it is only three months old and I guess I didn't expect anything to go wrong. Anyway it is almost due for its 50 hour service ($500+transport) and I assume he will fix everything. I do like the tractor and have done a lot of work with it.

A 50 hour sevice is much less than $500, and while a little minor weathering could be considered normal, pealing paint isn't, nor is a pealing tire. Take the tire to a warranty location for the brand tire that is on it. If a Titan, get a local Titan dealer to inspect, Titan would actually warranty the tire. It doessn't sound like you are getting a fair deal here.

Here I am responding to myself. :D Just a thought, when I mentioned the $500 service was too much, I was considering a basic "by the book" service. Such a service does not include an air or fuel filter as they are on more of a "as needed" schedule. I also believe the 50 hour does not require a change of the hytrans, just the hytrans filter. If your dealer is figuring both air and fuel filters and new hytrans fluid, it would raise both parts and labor and may approach $500.

I hope pk1mk1 updates us. I would like to see pictures of the problems. The paint and tire issues wouldn't make me very happy.

Yeah, I would not be a happy camper. :( However, I will say this: some of the "leftovers" of certain popular brands that I found on a few dealer lots were looking pretty shabby. I remember thinking that most of the better privately-owned used units were in better shape than these brand new leftovers. I wouldn't characterize the paint as peeling... but it sure was rusting & blistering in spots and fading rather badly in one case. The rusting was nothing structural and nothing that couldn't be fixed and touched up... but I did wonder who would want to pay $20,000+ for a machine with so much surface and part corrosion.

I am still trying to get a grasp on the tire peeling. I have never seen a tire peel. I have seen the crack from dry rot, but never peel. The only time I have ever seen peeling was when the tread blew of and I left a HUGE 'gator in the road....

Am I just not understanding or missing something all-together?

In any case, tire peeling is not normal on a new tractor... neither is paint peeling. That would concern me. I would wonder about any dealer that told me it's normal too.

Agree, yet you know the webbing that is sometimes between the tire lugs when real new? It comes off about the same time as the nubs wear down? If that was coming off and described as peeling, it is normal. If the tread is lifting off, bad news. On paint, if there is a little paint problem on the edge of the loader bucket, or on the front bumper, etc., that isn't an issue. Paint peeling off the fenders or hood, big problem.

If we can see it, it would help. I'll probably refrain from more comments until we see pictures. No reason to keep this alive if we can't see it.

On my 6500 the ag tires don't peel, but if I park on clay it leaves a blue coloration when the tractor is moved. Is this what you mean by peeling or is it somethign more major? Do other people experience the coloration on the ground?

Yes, agreed on all points, especially your last statement. We need visual clarification at this point. The first post led me to assume the tire peeling was occurring on the side wall because the way it was written, one after the other. But you are correct.

Sorry I don't have a camera. It is the sidewalls of the tires not the tread and the loader not the tractor. I guess I will assume it is not that serious just disappointing. Thanks.

After 200 hours and two years of sitting outside my KMW loader is a lighter shade of red (getting a little pinkish) than my 2615. I think the KMW paint is not a close match to the Mahindra Red on the body. The KMW paint definitely fades in the sun as the top of the loader arms are lighter than the sides.

I haven't noticed any peeling on my tires but I haven't looked that closely.

I've been trying to visualize this one as well. Does it look like paint, curled and rolled out?
