And by the way... the log loader in the first post is awesome! Truck that size might not need a locked diff to make it work but... it works obviously.

I wonder if the splitter auger has left hand threads so can only be used on the right? Whatever, I'll pass on that too.I think they look dangerous ... I'll pass.
In every one of those videos I've ever seen the user is on the passenger side right by the exhaust, wouldn't you rather be on the driver side away from the fumes and closer to the kill switch?
They aren't loading anything but it is bolted to the wheel like the first video.

It wouldn't matter what side you put the screwsplitter on... you can put the trans in reverse as easy as forward. However, a manual trans is needed... an auto might not work out so well, would gain too much speed at idle and come to a stop under a load. And I dont want someone hittin the gas pedal while I was splittin wood, I don't care who they are! Now, with a few pullys and some cable to allow a hand throttle for the operator, and a remote kill switch...
Running the vehicle in reverse would be one more strike leading toward disaster, it seems to me.
Splitting a truckfull of wood you are naturally going to be working behind the truck. In reverse if it climbs over the chocks it (and maybe the operator or helper) will be jammed into the woodpile. Although throwing that ladder seems equally dangerous. I don't see any way to operate that auger safely.
I wouldn't go near that thing.
