That's when you hit them in the pocket book.

A local auto parts store put up a little sticker in it's window a few years ago that said no concealed weapons. i had been a frequent shopper. That kinda put me off a tad and i talked to the manager about it who was unwilling to change his mind... Somebody made a phone call to the NRA who organized a small grassroots boycott of that store using local members to spread word of mouth info.

After about 3 weeks of only 1-2 customers a week.. the sticker mysteriously disappeared off their window.... money talks..

If someone doesn't want guns in their home or place of business, I can respect that.

How do you feel about having to leave a fingerprint for rental equipment?

Absolutely, me too. And South Carolina law reads that way. In fact, if you have a CC permit, you are still required to get permission from the owner before entering a private residence with your weapon. Anyone who does not want a weapon on their property should have that right. My point in this, particularly when it comes to commercial property, is that exercising the right to deny entry to someone legally carrying a gun, should be bound to the consequences of exercising that right. I think virtually every 'right' should be bound with its inherent responsiblities.

Never had to do that. Never heard of it. (All my rental guy wants is my credit card :D ) On first thought it seems offensive to me, but if you think about it, its not much worse than them recording you on a security camera. I prefer either to giving them a social security number. Which I would not do.

After thinking about it, when a store posts a sign that says No Guns Allowed, it must mean just people with CC permits because a person without a permit is carrying illegally already and since he is already breaking the law I doubt that he would pay attention to the sign anyway.

I'd rather leave a fingerprint than my credit card number... My Fp's are already on file with a few gov't agiencies..

Yep. That's why a Gun Free Zone like the one at VT means only one thing, the bad guys are armed and the good guys aren't. If there is a moral to that tragic story, this is it.

Good point. Uncle Sam not only has my fingerprints but my DNA, mug shots and my dental records. Why do they have all that on me? I'll never tell.......

Gun free zones are good at creating more patents for guys like you aren't they?

If someone REALLY wants your DNA or prints, they can generally find a way to get them---so leaving either wouldn't be a big deal I suppose. It just FEELS like some sort of imposition.
