As I said in a previous post I have been having a hard time keeping the hoses I use to operate my grapple from being pinched by the loader, so I was going to try to use steel piping similar to the factory set-up. When I was looking for pipe I found weld on clamps from Baileys for hydraulic hose, so I decided to give those a try.
The clamps are a very clever design that allows you to weld the base plate directly a flat surface without interfering with the bolt that closes the clamp around the hoses.
I use a rear remote to operate the grapple.
I had previously mounted quick couplers on the post that supports the loader valve by drilling two 3/4" holes in the post below the loader valve. This allows me to remove the loader without having to remove the hoses from under the tractor. I placed 45 degree fittings on these QC's so the hoses would turn up toward the loader arms.
I welded two clamps on the bottom of the loader arms to hold the hoses, added 90 degree els to the grapple cyliner and QC's, and than made a detachable mount for the QC's that I use to disconnect the grapple from the loader. Total cost: about $25.00 for the clamps and pipe fittings.
The clamps and mount work much better than zip tying the hoses to the loader lines and I no longer have to use bungees to try to keep the hoses from being pinched.
