OP is just Trolling, trying to stir the pot

Around here folks steal the pot .. from each others' fenced-in compounds.

^^ Neighbor needs to be in jail.

Not like where the OP lives where people get killed for what the wear, or don't wear.
Why would the neighbors need to be arrested????

My neighbor called me when there was a strange truck backed up to my garage door. Garage door was open and he could see people bringing stuff out to the truck.

He went over to investigate carrying a shotgun. Scared the living daylights out of my son in the process.

I gave my neighbor a $50 gift card to a local steak house that night.

He looks after our property when we are gone and we do the same for him and his wife.

Son was collecting some of his stuff. But neglected to let us know he was stopping by. He was in his friends truck so the vehicle wasn't recognized.

I get a text message from him now if he's swinging by the house while we are at work.

We don't live on our remote property. The neighboring land owner doesn't live on his, either. But he is out there almost every week hunting or deer plotting, etc... and he keeps an eye on if for us, as does the conservation officer. Neighbor has asked several people to leave our place over the years, and the conservation officer caught someone cutting firewood on our place... my in-laws!

When we bought our place 8 years ago, at the exchange we asked about keys. The previous owners shrugged their shoulders and said, "well, umm, we don't really have any keys. We lost them years ago." We've never locked our house, and I've never thought twice about it. I live on a private road with 2 neighbors in the middle of nowhere.

If freaks my in-laws out. Every night they go around and lock all of the doors. I just laugh.

My neighbor just down the road regularly carries, and installed an expensive home security system a few years back.

I think everyone perceives threat differently.

In the 8 years I've lived in this town there has never been a single break in (that I'm aware of or that was reported in the news). Could it happen? Sure. But it's not enough for me to worry about.

I lock my doors, particularly the back door, because I don't want to wake up to a bear in the house. We also have cougars. I carry whenever I am outside, keep a shotgun by the back door, and have a rifle boot on the tractor. Yes, I share acreage with a bear. I see bear sign all the time. Just last week he ripped a downed log apart to get at the grubs. Humans are scary, but they are not the only threat.

My suggestion - move to a safer area. I live in a VERY remote location. Been here 38+ years. In all that time - NEVER had anybody come here wanting to do harm to anything or anybody. I have never taken a weapon with me for self protection while out on my property. I own 80 acres - a mile off the county road.

I feel very sorry for those who have to or feel they have to carry a firearm to be safe on their own property. Life is just too short for that sort of crap .............

I carry all the time, Its like a spare tire for a car you hope that you never need it, Rather have it than not........

I really like that analogy!

My suggestion - move to a safer area. ...

I guess people haven't read the OP's other thread where he says he lives in the Middle East. Or noticed the Star Of David avatar. There are no safe places there. There is a constant state of war to one degree or another. They don't have police like we do.

i dont worry about it where i live. i have left for town and left garage doors open. all neighbors look out for each other, and were pretty rural. if i lived in a place where i had to carry to go outdoors, id move.
