Personal Weather Station - Suggestions?

Well, in the app on my phone it show the Station ID and key. Also shows, AMBWeather - WifiID, MAC address, and IP address.

Have you logged into your account on Weatherunderground? You may need to OK it on the web site can't remember it's been so long I set mine up..

Note that I was able to add a link in my signature to go to ambientweather.net. Does this link work for anyone else?

Yes this works for me Can't find your station either on Weatherunderground...Not sure why it would not work if it is setup and connected to the internet!

Going to take this over to the wxforum.net and register there... seems there are a bunch of personal weather station enthusiasts there. Don't worry, TBN will still be my default forum! :laughing:

I have an Ambient WS-2902A that I like, it's been up for about 5 months now, I think. I've got it setup to report to Weather Underground so I can see it from anywhere and share it with the neighbors. I like their dashboard a little better for my own use though. Here's a screenshot of that, it stores historical information so I can graph or dig into trends.

Well it seems once I posted my problem on the wxforum.net and waiting for a reply, my PWS resumed transmitting again to ambientweather.net after a 4 hour hiatus. I did nothing and had to apologize for my first newbie post over there. So... all is well. I guess there is some kind of lag when you change your Station I.D.

Now, I just want to figure out how I get get my weather info in my signature here similar to B7510. Seems I need my own website do it?

I use Weather Display software that allows me to create the banner. There is also a forum at Weather Watch which which the author of my software hangs out on helping folks with issues!!

We have the Ambient unit as well. It was no problem to set up the connection to my existing wunderground account. I did not set up an ambient account.

We had a problem with the remote unit losing connection to the base station. It's under 100 ft away. This is a known problem with some remote units. We got ours replaced under warranty.

My connections between the base and remote as well as to wunderground and to ambient online sight are all working great now. I am so far very happy with the WS2902.

No one has mentioned Netatmo yet. It's a pretty solid system, just don't mount the outdoor unit where it could get directly rained on.

Ties data in with wunderground. Really nice app with data history, check your weather form anywhere in the world.

I don't have the anemometer or rain gauge add-ons, though. Just three temp/humidity/CO2 sensor units.

I don't believe that you can broadcast/connect to two different weather servers.

I got an Ambient WS-1002 a little over a year ago and it's been great. It replaced a LaCross system that I had to keep replacing parts on for several years: I was happy to eventually get it to work with some free-ware software that would allow me to run it under Linux (last legacy Windows app was that stupid weather software). I liked that I could maintain data locally (the Ambient won't because it's standalone), but the trade-off with having better hardware is worth it.

Been checking my 'local' weather while on business in China. Nice to be able to see rain and wind info and history. I am liking the Ambient app more than the Wunderground app when viewing on my phone. I think next step is to attach a webcam that is controllable remotely. I have an old Foscam but I am not sure about its weatherability. Might need to upgrade so I can mount it outdoors.
