Ed, yes, it's bolted to a mount that is bolted to a bar that connects both sides of the ROPS.

Mike, you should be able to get the quick attach mounts for the SMV at your dealer for a few bucks. I'm pretty sure they have them at Tractor Supply Company as well.

Mike - Unless you're trying to get rid of her and avoid the costs of a divorce, don't let your wife near that thing! There's nothing she, or anyone, can do anyway. Except maybe stand way back from the side of it and tell you if the auger is vertical or not. As for hooking it up being hard, I hang mine from a tree limb My Leinbach (I think it's the same model as yours, but I can't remember for sure, 7200 sounds familiar though), has a loop welded on the top which is there for that purpose. The manual even recommends it as a way to store it.. Piece of cake to take on and off that way. I’ve never had any trouble hooking up the driveshaft. You might want to check for burrs or something, it should slide right on. I keep a thin film of oil or grease on my PTO shaft and always put the dust cover on the tractor when I’m not using the PTO. I’ll get some grease on my hands if I have to rotate it a little to line up the splines (how do you spell that?), so I just keep a rag in the tool box.

Danny, this is what I wanted her to do. I'll get better at it, but last evening I spent a good deal of time getting on and off the tractor making sure the auger was vertical, plus a few times to clear rocks away from the auger. Plus, this pasture is for her horses, so I want her to share the 'joy' of installing a fence. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Ah, I noticed that hook and wondered what it was there for. I read the owner's manual and it didn't sink in. Thanks for telling me. Although, the only trees we have that might be big enough are in our front yard. That probably wouldn't go over too big. When I was finished last night, I just left it augered into the ground. Once I am done drilling all 185 holes, I'll probably end up tying it to a fence post. Yep, I have a 7200.

Hooking it up last night was easier. I think the problem I had was some dirt got into the phd side of the connection.

Just park a couple old rusty riding lawn mowers with no hoods and flat tires and pile up some wheels and tires next to it and no one will notice the PHD! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Just a thought, would a couple of those bubble levels for campers epoxied to your digger allow you to see if you're plumb and straight from the seat?

Good question. I've never seen one of them so I can't comment. But anything that would keep me in the seat would speed up the process.

Excellent idea. I wonder if our friend Rick from R&B Manufacturing of TiltMeter fame would have a model that would work? Rick??

Not only to keep the operator in the seat, but keep other "helpers" away. PHD's are very dangerous at best and the process is complicated by having a second person at risk.

It a 48" long auger. The last 8" or so i raise the tractor front end with the bucket and down she goes. The 3 point arms dont quite make the drop.
