PHD - bucket mounted gas unit?

I'm not sure about rigging that up to the loader, but I've drilled many holes with a one man power post hole drill. I find it much easier to use two people on it and life was much better.

( The idea of mounting a PHD on a FEL bucket has great appeal to me, especially since the Class I NH TC18 doesn't have a whole lot of lift height on the 3PH.

Anyone have any good reasons why it couldn't -- or shouldn't -- be done?

I've looked at tractor-mountable augers of several configurations. The
tradeoff for getting the tractor to muscle the drilling torque is you'll
need to inch the tractor (3PH or loader mount) or backhoe to keep the
auger plumb as the hole depth advances. And there is the risk of bending
the auger should you creep the business excessively in any direction.

Good point -- I didn't think about the need to move the tractor. If I do it, I plan to mount it to the side of the bucket where it will be visible to me. I think one has to be very careful with the curl at the same time as the bucket up or down, too. But, I'm pretty good at that.
