Curious ...

Hydraulic Post Hole Digger operated off the FEL using remote hydraulics.

What is the approximate gallon per minute hydraulic pump that would be needed for this type of application?

The B26 states that its total pump capacity is 11.2 gpm.

However, it also states:

"7.0 GPM for loader/backhoe/3-point hitch, 4.2 GPM for backhoe boom swing, 6.2GPM for power steering."

I have the smallest one landpride makes on my 5030. I think it's good up to 12 GPM. Works well on my tractor and it is about 10 GPM. I sure like the down pressure of the loader.

Kubota Dealer nearest me said he sets up b26 units with augers mounted on the Backhoe Boom for local landscapers and uses the Thumb Hydraulics for power.

Are there any accuracy or issues related to it being out front possibly a little harder to position over a particular point?

I am interested in these as well for posts and planting trees.

Great info ... thanks everyone!

I grabbed their website: Land Pride Post Hole Diggers

The HD25 [5-12 GPM] would work for the B26 which offers 7.0 GPM to the front remotes or the BH boom.

I like the idea of boom mounting a hydraulic PHD in that it would offer a little more reach, and it'd allow the bucket to be used for carrying posts, cement, tools, etc.

Either way, I now know that I have options which is wonderful. I really appreciate this help. As we plan for a B26, a hydraulic PHD was the deal breaker. We have a lot of pasture fencing in our future, and our NH soil is inundated with submerged rocks and tree roots. Having a reverse direction is a necessity ... at least for me ... I want that insurance to escape a potential nightmare.
