This will have to be one of the strangest question / requests ever posted. If any one out there has a picture of their detached garage with a head on shot from the front, can you please post it. I am in need of a picture of a garage that would be about a 30x34 footprint, preferably vinyl sided or brick so I can make the wife happy.

Why you ask, well the wife wants to know what it is going to look like before I start cutting up the yard and making a mess as she calls it. I call it just plan fun and exciting.

I thought I could cut and past in photo shop the picture of the garage and a picture of my side yard to make a representation of what it will look like, to get me off the hook and sell her on this idea of mine.

any help out there, it would get me down the road to a garage and me out of the house.

Thanks
Roger

Hey Roger,
I am always looking at LaValleys site on line and all the packages they have on the website. All different types of garages and buildings.

Here is the link LaValley Building Supply, IncDuesenburg

Hopefully this will help your wife get an idea. Mine is a little smaller than you are building but close. The photos are from a camera phone so they are not great, but you can still see most of the details. In photo 3 you can see that I didn't put a door knob on the passage door, I used a 5 button combination lock and it is one of the best things I ever did! A couple other good things I did were put in a 4 post car lift in the middle (with a raised ceiling) and central air conditioning to make it comfortable to work out there in the summer.

Hi Bob,
The last photo with the Fidelity plaque should clinch it for the wife :)

You might want to do a search for a thread called, "So I got a good deal on some trusses" by dholly. He documented the entire process with lots of pictures and explinations on what he was doing and why. It also turned out real nice!!!

Good Luck,
Eddie

Hello, Scotty, this one is 22' deep by 34' wide. It has a dividing wall between the far left bay and the middle one, and a side door on the left side. It's already too small!!! I put in 8' doors so I could get a tractor in with the ROPS up. No tractor yet!!

A nice hip roof was posted but if you want to consider a gable... This was originally a detached garage. It was 24x26 feet with gable roof. And then I added a safe room (8 1/2 by 9 1/2 ID) accessed from inside the garage. If you look carefully you can see the roof slope just above and to the right of the window changes pitch to accomodate the safe room which is in the part of the garage to the viewer's left in this picture. The house is 8 ft from the garage. There is a 33x10 1/2 ft sun room that overlaps the house and the garage so you can go from the hoiuse to tha safe room without going out in the weather.

The vinyl is Irish Linen with Hunter green trim. It is Dutch lap style. There is a sidewalk between the house and the garage with a door leading into the sun room/back porch.

I did this house first and stayed there while building our final house. (CBN Thread Oklahoma Farm House) This one has just been listed to sell.

Pat

Here is a thread that I had going on here when I built my 30x48 pole barn/garage. It was a long project but I've really enjoyed it. Here is the thread of the entire project.http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/27976-jims-pole-barn-project-hopefully.html?highlight=Jim%27s+Pole+Barn+project

More specifically here is a picture of the front of the garage. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/projects/45600d1128441975-jims-pole-barn-project-hopefully-747883-100_0731.jpg

Incidentally I was hoping to be able to post an update to my thread in a few days. I've got 50 sheets of OSB sitting in there waiting to become a ceiling. Just need to get with my cousin and make sure he isn't going to be using his drywall lift for awhile.

I also took another shot straight on from the front tonight - too bad it was a little dark and raining.
