Pick Up Bed Cover

I bought a used F-150 a couple of weeks ago - - it's in great shape & has most features I would have liked if I were buying new. However, there is no bedliner. I'm wiffle-waffling between getting a spray-on treatment and a tonneau cover. I've also seen roll-up tonneau covers.

Any advice?

I bought a 2006 F150 Supercrew about 3 weeks ago...same dilemma.
I'm pretty sure I'm going with a tri-fold tonneau. Probably a BAKflip g2 or an Extang cover.
Take a look at those tonneaus. Not super cheap, but appear to be much more convenient to use.

I have a roll-up on my 2005 2500HD and I have been very happy with it. I included the manual as you will see it is easy to install.

You do need to either have an under the rail bed liner or spray on.

I have had a Truxedo Low Profile on the last three of my trucks. Instead of a spray in bedliner I put a BedRug into mine. Its not for hauling gravel but everything I do with my truck (hunt, fish, tow, general light duty use) works fine. The roll ups are nice because you can get them out of the way when you need the bed and they cover the bed nice and dry when you need more storage. Seems to help a bit on the mileage too, but that may be my imagination

I traded in February, 2001 Chevy 2500 HD Crew cab to 2006 1500 crew cab. I had the 3/4 covered with aluminum tool boxes with a slide in center cover. When I got the 1/2 ton, It had a soft tonneau cover on it. Don't trust people enough to not be able to lock it, so I got an Extang folding cover off Ebay for $735. Two spring latches on the back & two hand screws on the front. I can either fold it up or remove it easily.

I prefer it over the low profile because I carry some things in 6-gallon buckets w/seat lids, they'll set up with this cover, won't with the low profile. Personal preference!

I use a sheet of chip board on the floor, cheaper way to go & if it gets too dirty, replace it. ~~ grnspot

I had a fold up type, the cover is now over the b-b-q grill! My brother has the roll up kind and it's great. I dont think it matters much unless you use the bed much, then the roll up is a PITA to me.

I settle for the drop in plastic kind now since I will work out of it, the spray in I had was nice, but easy to shred with the right cra& in the back.

I have a soft extang trifold cover, it's great. I've always had hard caps before, but the trifold is so convenient, and it comes off in a couple minutes if I need to haul something big. Also got lineX for the first time, I will never have another plastic liner.

I have the Truxedo LoPro QT roll up bed cover, works well (ebay $350 including shipping). My Dad has the same one and likes it also. One of my daughters has the one that goes on top of the bed rails and she likes it also. Spray in bed liners on Dads (Linex) and mine (TurboLiner). Daughter has not had hers done yet.

Very happy with it, I keep some tools, etc in it all the time, added a Pop-n-Lock also! ~~ grnspot
