You must not put many miles on a vehicle? OEM tires are not known for longevity.

I have almost the same truck, 07 2500 ccsb CTD, my tires were plus sized by the previous owner to 285-75-17, it had the Nitto terra grappler on it when I bought it and replaced them with the same. Very happy with the Nitto, also have them on my wife's LR3 for the winter and do well.

I have access to tire equipment so I do my own installation but u want to say it was still a bit over 800 for just the tires through a tire distributor.

Discounttiredirect.com is also a decent source, especially if you can get a sale.

My wife's Toyota came with Toyos on them, but not the good kind you get at Les Schwartz, they barely made it to 35k.
I took a chance and ordered a set of Nitto all season from Discount Tire. They are turning out to be outstanding in rain and snow, and at 20k, still look new.
Only negative is road noise, due to tread pattern.
Price was $740 IIRC

I've heard complaints from a few people on road noise with the Nitto's but all three sets I've had on my truck haven't been noisy, two sets were E load range from completely worn out to brand new and the other set is D load range from new to half worn so far.

All of mine are the earlier generation, they did an update a couple years ago and they are supposed to even quieter.

5500 miles on a 2013 Silverado,I have 13,000 on a 2014 Silverado that "may" go in the spring.I am quite aware it cost more to trade than purchase tires but I can afford to so why not.

How has the 2014 silverado been? Any issues with thr EPS or AFM?

i have the ability to mount tires myself. so i buy them online from wherever is cheapest. for balancing I have just done my first set with the beads we'll see how they work. otherwise i have a friend who is an independent mechanic who lets me use his balancer.

i am a big fan of discount tire direct and through the end of this week they are running a sale. also check their ebay store, sometimes the tires are cheaper ebay.

Discount tire gets my vote. I have had good luck with Hankook, Toyo, Falken, Goodyear, and Firestone.

The 2014 is a double cab,4wd,Z71 with the 5.3 V8.No problems at all,had a recall on an air-bag sensor.Truck gets as much as 22.9 mpg in the summer.If I trade it will be for the same truck,I may wait until they start coming with the 9 speed transmission.I am retired so don't put a lot of miles like I used to.My wife has 16,000 miles on her 2015 Equinox.
